Yep after you've both done your homework it's off to bed for you two! Better get used to it - When LO moves in, you'll be off to bed shortly after him - no more all nighters for you two for a while Best of luck for tomorrow - not that you'll need it. xx

I think Facebook is the spawn of the devil, but that's just me. I hate it with a vengence - I just don't get it - maybe I'm too old or something, but what's wrong with good old fashioned email. That's what I do - I stay in touch with "real" friends that way. Send the photo's or whatever - then I know it's only them who get to see them and I don't have to worry about leaving a cyber trail of evidence all over the place and don't have to worry that in the future Fbook might change their rules and forget to tell me and post all my pictures for the world to see. Think that's my biggest worry - you never know what will happen to the stuff you put on there or where it will end up. Sorry I just hate it!

Very very best of luck for today. You've done all the prep now, so just try to relax and be yourselves. Let us know how it goes.

Good luck! Got it all crossed... Think fb is personal Choice... I'm on it but after adopting I did a big 'friend' cull and only have people that I would/ do pick up the phone too. Friends have been respectful and not posted pics, I use a nickname rather than my real name, I don't have me as my profile pic, I keep an eye on security and refer to my kids by nicknames that are nothing like their real names and am v vague on dates of bdays etc. All my peers are on fb/ use social media and I did a lot of travelling, have lots of friends in different countries and it's a nice way of staying in touch.
I don't think the problems necessarily come from you having a fb account, it's more when the children get to an age that they are interested, that's where it becomes tricky.
Everyone has their own opinions, but I feel social media whether you love or hate it is not going away and having an understanding of how it works and can be used/ abused, new social networking sites etc is useful. It's a bit of a minefield though to any teenager and adoption adds a whole new dimension of complications. As much communication with teens and educating them about how to be safe online is the best thing we can do, but is by no means fail safe

Is he in with FC or own room at the moment?
Current recommendations for prevention of SIDS (cot death) is for babies to be in parents room till 6 months of age but in reality lots of parents put them in their own rooms earlier. From a bonding point of view you will be able to respond to LO's needs faster if in your room. We got a rocking chair for night feeds or waking in night which I love but we dropped her dream feed at 6 months and she has never woken overnight so far......
Babybee is still in with us age 7 months. Need to think about getting her room ready soon. We haven't bought anything for her room yet. It still had a double bed in which we need to find a home for and room needs painting! She has always slept well and the little baby noises she makes don't bother us and it is such a pleasure to hear her stirring and look over to find our giggling smiling girl! I think DH would keep her in our room till she was out of the cot! In reality I think we will put her in her own room when she is about 9 months.
Hope you are enjoying a relaxing weekend away!

Congratulations, that is fab news. As for sleeping in your room, my bd did for quite a while as I found it easier all round, being by myself. I probably would for bonding too. Not long now

hi scaredy cat... i remember another thread about this, maybe on here or on the old site. people had lots of different opinions, but the main thing the responses had in common was whatever you decide, be prepare to stick with it for awhile... eg don't bring lo in with you, only to move him into his own room a month or two later, the move from fc is so bewildering everything needs to be the same and safe for a really long time while they are settling.
for us, our lo's (16 months, 8 months and 10 month on placement)have always had their own rooms,a v solid bedtime routine and have always settled well, the only things that have thrown their sleeping patterns off(apart from illness) is major change to their sleeping routine...squirrel and howler going from having their own rooms to sharing, howler changing from bed to cot, squirrel after giving up her dummy
but its also nice to have them in with you...def recommend the rocking/ glider chair, i've snuggled all of ours back to sleep on ours... and have been known to doze off myself there too.
its getting so close now... how is your excitement/ fear ratio doing:)
