So here it is after almost two years of going through the process to now having met our Babybug is our intro diary... Day one: started out at 8am to get to the planning meeting got stuck in traffic and where 15 minutes late!! Never been late for any of our meetings prior to today. Had some lunch at the pub attached to the hotel, clock watching the whole time and counting down the minutes until we would meet our son! FC came & met us at our hotel and walked us to her house, about a 10 minute walk. Walked in the room to finally meet our Babybug, he sat there with FC eyeing us up cautiously. I didn't cry like I thought I would, phew!! FC walked him over to us saying to him who do you want mummy or daddy?? She gave him to me and he sat there just looking at me. After a little while we got on the floor and played with him. Fc showed me what and how she cooks his dinner. Whilst I was I. The kitchen with her DH held Babybug who all but fell asleep on his shoulder, so sweet and heart warming. We had only been there an hour when BB went for his nap and we spent the next 2 hours (out of the 5) watching carp TV!! Once he woke up again we were back on the floor playing until teatime and all too soon it was time for us to leave!

Day two: 8am-2pm!! Observation of morning routine. Set the alarm for 6:30 so we could get up have breakfast and then rake the short walk to FC, didn't need the alarm I was awake at 6!! Babybug was still in his cot but FC said he had woken earlier than usual FC washed and dressed him then he let me give him his bottle but wouldn't open his mouth to allow me to feed him breakfast so FC fed him. We had more playing on the floor (not too sure I'm young enough to be crawling around the floor anymore!!) and Babybug in his walker which he zooms around the room in, almost toppled over a few times giving me a heartattack. We then took him out for a walk (us Walking not him) whilst FC stayed at home, popped to the park, not that there was much he could go on. DH put him in the baby swing which he seemed to like so much he almost fell asleep! I definitely need L plates on the pushchair, couldn't get it up the front step however it is quite a deep step. Babybug allowed DH to give a bottle and not long after he fell asleep, initially facedown on DH's arm!! A quick half an hour nap and his batteries were recharged. We had lunch made for us which we didn't expect at all while FC fed BB his lunch. After more baby walker antics I gave him a yoghurt (yay he let me feed him). And just prior to us leaving I had the pleasure of changing his rather smelly nappy! Was hoping for a lay in tomorrow as don't have to be at FC until 2pm however on our way home DH had a call from the hospital HD has an MRI scan at 7:15am!! End of lays in for us it is for a good few years!! I so want to post some pics of BB but think perhaps I should wait until he comes home!

Oh wow, missed two dsys already .
Glad to hear it's finally happening and is going well for you.
Surprised you had to sit through two hours of carp tv while he slept. Could you not have gone for a walk and FC phone you when he woke up, she must know how long he usually sleeps for, or were you chatting about him and finding out more?
So pleased he took food from both of you.
Do try and get to bed before midnight. It will catch up on you by the end of the week if you don't and remember when he comes home you won't sleep watching him sleep, one of the lovliest things in the world, watching your own LO sleeping.

Ah, so good to read you have finally started intros. Your L-plates comment made me smile. It is actually much easier if you turn around and move the pushchair backwards over a step. Same goes for doors, push them open leaning back against them. The amount of times people get stuck in them trying to open the door with their hand , holding it open and then try and push the buggy through. Unless you had circus training, it is blimming hard :-) Enjoy the rest of intros, sounds like you have really nice FCS and hope MRI scan is OK. Xx

Another long day! Are intros just scheduled for a week? If so, that explains the longer days.
Definitely up stairs backwards, down stairs forwards.
Hope tomorrow goes well x

So happy for you and glad everything is going well.
We were going through intros this time last year and DH had an MRI of his brain during intros too!
Enjoy every moment. It is normal for baby bug to have wobbles so don't worry when they do happen. (Normal for parents to have wobbles too!) Also don't worry too much about food. Some babies eat lots when they come home and some refuse to be fed and they may gain lots or lose a bit of weight but they will be fine as long as they are drinking and hydrated.
Hope you are taking lots of photos. Make sure FC takes some of the 3 of you. Can't wait to see photos of baby bug.
Lots of love and good luck for the next few days

Day three: 2pm start today played for a bit then fed BB his milk and he then went down for a nap. When he woke we went out for a bit with FC were going to visit a city farm but by the time we got there it was closed!! So we went to the park and a little play on the swings but he started moaning after only a very short time so we walked back to FC house. Once back BB had his dinner which he let me feed him followed by a bit of play then bathed him, gave him milk and then it was bedtime and time for us to leave. As much as we both love spending time with BB it was so nice to leave as we were both so tired. Grab something quick to eat and both in bed by 9:30!!!

Why the 2pm start ? It does sound a bit odd and that you aren't really spending that much time with him, but lots of hanging around waiting to go and see him. At least you are spending all day with him today.

Day four: 8am start at FC, got BB out of bed gave him his bottle but again he refused to let me feed him breakfast after FC fed him breakfast I dressed him and got all his bits together and off we went to visit our house. BB fell asleep in the car as we expected (an hour and a quarter down the road). Today was his first meeting with Lollipop, she was worried he wouldn't like her!! 10 minutes in and he was playing with her. He took his bottle but refused lunch!! He had his afternoon nap in his new cot only for an hour mind but I wasn't sure he would settle. Thankfully he did eat his dinner (phew) had another bottle then it was bath time. Getting his ready for his bath, took his nappy off and suffice to say he christened his changing mat!!! Bathed without any issues whatsoever, didn't whinge having hair washed or anything. Put his pjs on and took him back to FC. She asked how the day was obviously and when I told her that he weed etc... on the changing mat she was very pleased!!! Back lack to the hotel, quick dinner then in bed again by 9:30!!! almost forgot, bought him a baby walker which he loves as he zooms around the floor!!
