How are you Imp ?
We had our last 10 miler yesterday and are eagerly watching the weather forecast. Not just hubby but for us supporters !
The plan is for 10pm curfew every night this week not that hubby is some elite athlete but he is soooo tired.

Taking it very easy, as antibiotics don't finish until this evening---and they have some unfortunate side effects,
A 4 miler yesterday, just plenty of walking for the rest of the week, including Thursday in London to sign in, look round the exhibition, then a session at Westfield shopping!!!!
Have managed to get Tiny One to have last feed at 11.00, then sleep right through, so more sleep for me.
Feel as ready as I can be---bring it on !!!!!
Hope your hubby enjoys the whole day xx

Hi Imp. Sounds like you're good to go. And the shopping is Aways good prep, for anything!!
Really sorry that other thing didn't work out. We will be along the route somewhere near the finish so will be sending you positive vibes to get you through.
Very best of luck. Enjoy the experience. You've trained so hard.

Went to London yesterday to officially register, number and timing chip ready to be attached to the appropriate parts of my anatomy.
Getting excited in a masochistic sort of way.
My current mantra is----Pain is temporary, Achievement is Forever!!!!!
Thank you all for your support
See you on the other side, I will post a picture of my medal and t shirt after I return home on Monday

I kjow theres a lot of interest in the elite runners but there are a few dozen of them and 38000 of the 'mass' runners, could do with a little more focus on them.

Paula who?! did they show a paula on the tv this morning?!!
impette 'liked' the well wishing comments attached to the photo posted this morning about an hour ago, so is either far more steady running than I am walking, stopped to checked fb, or finished. but haven't seen a triumphant 'i'm finished' post anywhere yet!

Not likely to hear from imp til later tomorrow. But as impette has accessed fb this afternoon maybe she'll let the world know how they've both done. But I'll only see that if imp is tagged into it. Maybe we should just set up the banners and bunting on here and the party started in anticipation!

Ok. Spoiler alert. Both imp and impette have survived and conquered. Am sure imp will be along after much sleep, rest and return to wifi to give the details of times and anecdotes. Hugely impressed with with them both and the other 38000 runners. how did hubby do cowgirl?

Hubby finished! Has a few aches & pains but is safe & sound. Didn't beat his last marathon time but this is his 3rd and final London marathon. (So he says anyway) I had Imps race number so can confirm with LOBs she finished. I don't want to steal her thunder but it am suitably impressed ......... Crowd was awesome but not as awesome as the runners ! Can't admit to hubby but I totally & utterly cream crackered

Can't wait to hear from imp..... maybe a proud parents photo for 24hrs pleeeese xxxxx

have to admit cowgirl I was cream crackered last night and only watched it on telly! I did have a fall on Friday and am blaming that for the aches and pains but actually think its more down to sitting down for most of the day!

Yes, I finished, and I am never, ever going to do it again!!!
Have tried to upload photo of finishers vest and medal but keeps saying that the file is too big.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks for tracking, chatting and supporting me everyone, it has meant a lot.
Have no idea yet how long we actually took, haven't seen my official time yet, but I do know that it would have been quicker if they hadn't been clearing the course from about mile 8, not easy to go at best speed when dodging lorries and vans dismantling the mile markers and cleaning off the 'quickest route' markings on the road---or the numerous times we were told to move on to the pavements among pedestrians. Don't quite know why, didn't happen three years ago, and we were actually quicker this time---until slowed down by this palaver.
Never mind, got there in the end and actually SPRINTED the last 200 yards!!!!!!!

sprinting becoz of the thought of dinner or the thought of finishing?!
does sound weird the clearing up bit, I 'saw' you at dinner in the evening so surely they could have kept the markers etc up in place for everyone to finish for safety if not courtesy!

lobs, even the police said it was it was ridiculous . Have to say that the marshals, supporters, police and everyone else were great, just the clearing up should have been done later.
