Do you know if you have a person with a disability you can get them a bus pass (Like the older person pass) . YOu need to go to your council for a from or some you can do online. You have to prove of disability eg DLA. some people I know have had forms signed by the GP without receiving DLA and qualified for one.
If the child is under 16 or if the disability is severe and the person could not travel with out a carer then the pass can be marked with a C allowing an adult to also travel free with them.

I've just used ours for the first time. Serrakunda, the GP needed 3 attempts to get them signed correctly, but we got there in the end. We're going to start using the bus relatively regularly (not a bus user AT ALL) so that hopefully by the summer the girls will be able to go to small town independently. We didn't need any documentation - GPs sign off was enough.

Is the bus pass just limited to your county? I really should get these for my boys and the train ones, but buses not regular where I am but going from dads to mine would save me taking whelk by car!

NO you can use them all over the county.there are some local exception eg some are classed as coaches and you have to pay but not many of them.
also some areas have no travel before 9.30 policy.OR you might be able to start the journey in your county but in some in yours ot issued by that county you have to abide by the restriction. My area produces a leaflet which we tend to carry as a couple of times the rarer routes have questioned use. ie twice in over 8 years ds2 has had his.

From what I read the person who the card relates to has access to buses nationwide but carers have to pay if we are out of area.

Not all areas do the 'added free carer'.
The bus pass Stig has entitles him to free bus and local train travel any time of day, and free bus travel on standard buses anywhere in the country after 9.30.
His carer has to pay full fare for him/herself.
