sigh.....Lapwing confronted me this week for being the oldest mum in the whole of her year, which is year 7!
I probably am, she is 11, I am 54.
It's not that I even care about being ancient! I dont feel ancient, I dont even look that ancient, but I feel sorry for her having yet another 'issue' to deal with...out comes the wrinkle cream, hair dye, hula hoop... doing my best not to be so aged!

((Mudlark)) - don't - if it wasn't for this Lapwing would probably find something else to be embarrassed about. This is probably more to do with her own mindset. And she's growing up fast, starting secondary they very quickly develop traits, attitudes which were not there before. They are starting puberty and have more freedoms.
If you want wrinkle cream and hair dye because it makes you feel better, use it, and use well. I love hair dye and makeup, at least I then like what I see in the mirror and it perks me up. But don't do it for the kids if it's not you.
You are her safe haven the way you are. No need to improve on this. Xx

Oohh hugs mudlark I am with you.... baa & skweek have decided I am ancient too (61)...
In primary they thought I was younger more in line with their peers ( I shaved 15yrs off!!! ๐ ) But they now know my real age ๐ข ...... but like you I have no issue with my age & like flutterby rightly says my boys need something to be cross with me over ๐ฟ they will always find something ๐ ....
But do you know what ๐ณ I'll bet if you look around at the mum's many will look a similar age & if not others may well be less preserved ?!?* ๐ ๐คฃ
Sending you many hugs... but I got you beat girl xxxxxxxxxxx ๐ ๐คช ๐ ๐ ๐

Thanks ladies...I don't look too bad for my age, always thankful for a bit of makeup to help things along.... most mums around me are in their late 30's early 40's and tbh I dont really care that much...Lapwing can be such an emotional drain always finding a way to create discord or angst...(adorable otherwise)! Peewit horrorfied at her attack on our decrepitude piped up with..'they might be old but they are the best' - Lapwing says in studious tones...Mum is that smudged mascara or bags under your eyes....! Oh the joy!
