Well even though she has not been at school since March Lapwing has now 'left' primary school, she got to go in for two days and see her teacher and friends, pick up her Bible, year book and hoodie and that was that! She was 4 when she arrived and started at her primary school, now an 11 year old and I couldn't be prouder. Despite the challenges, ups and downs, and roller-coaster of life she has done remarkably well and overcome so much. The enforced lock down has been tough, emotionally draining for all, and I am not looking forward to a further seven weeks or so! However I feel we have passed a milestone, finished the first leg of the race, and can now afford to briefly feel relieved, before girding our loins ready for the teenage years! I do hope everyone is hanging on in there, I do pop here now and again and it's always nice to hear how others are doing. x

ahh, well done Lapwing ( and mudlark) Getting very grown up.
the end of an era indeed. Simba is 16 next week and in effect left school in March. No more school uniform or regulation haircuts. He will be a college boy in September commuting on a train.

A very strange leavers' experience for our Year 6 kids. Wishing Lapwing all the best in her secondary journey.
I cannot believe my lovely daughter is also off to secondary school in a few weeks' time!
