Hi folks, sorry for the silence over the past few months. Busy enjoying my not so LO and coping with family illness. Things are not too bad now though. We have our first school meeting with the person responsible for looked after children. My LO doesn’t have any identified additional needs as yet. What should I be discussing with her? (I have already noted security issues on my list.) Thanks :-)

Attachment, possible trigger points in curriculum (Baby photos etc), how your LO is with other children etc. Worth looking at Adoption UK site for the specific material put together for schools.
Not to scare you but Sqk seemed to have no additional needs and was doing fine until he started in school. We now in year 2 have full 1 to 1 support for him (no EHCP yet) and referral for ADHD (we think more likely ADD) and cognitive assessment. He is working at expected levels in everything except writing (& other subjects requiring fine motor control).

Hello lovelies A LOT has happened since I last posted! We now have our not-so-little boy’s beautiful baby sister placed with us for adoption. Probably needless to say, this has meant an incredibly stressful year of school for our little boy. Assessment and Introductions massively stressful for whole family for lots of reasons but we’re all home now and slowly coming out of this acute stressful episode.
Need to take a breath!
Sending love to all x
