Simba will eat pretty much anything, apart from eggs, and especially omlettes
tonight I have managed to pass off a Spanish on omlette as a pizza, it was judged delicious

Clever you!
Do you have to disguise sprouts?

Fab Mummy....well done
I used to add "sauce" to lots of meals and they loved it - little did they know that "sauce" was pureed veg - they would never eat visible veg!

Quiche without a pastry crust is similar.

I fully agree with Simba that sprouts are evil and should be blasted from the veg-iverse immediately

I love sprouts and Sqk seems to be taking after me. Happily eats Kale & spring greens as well. Not discovered much he won't eat although eh goes through phases of refusing stuff. Major issue for us is making sure he should eat it (lactose & fructose intolerances are a pain). Not tried him with omelettes yet but DH cannot eat eggs except if they are fried/poached (and that is a recent change) so we rarely have them. Like we rarely have mashed potato or pureed veg as DH cannot take the texture....

Wow that must be so restrictive for you Gilreth with your whole family having their little quirks/ allergies!
Starlet refuses point blank to eat stir fry, she hates it. But if I say how about we have chicken/ prawns done in the big frying pan with corn, mushrooms, peppers, onions, with oyster sauce... Then it's the best thing ever.

Kstar you are making me jealous... I long for the day when mine will eat even one of the things on your delicious stir fry list...sigh...back to good ol' captain birdseye!

Oh Starlet is a fab eater. She came with the reputation of only eating chicken nuggets, spaghetti hoops and breakfast cereal. That's nonsense and has been since day one. Curry, various Chinese dishes, veg, salad, fruit, seafood... New faves include Parma ham and chorizo lol.

The one thing she categorically will not eat is sausages - sounds weird but I think it's because it was what she requested for her last contact with her BM and we have photos of them eating the meal together.

I have just had to accept that for what ever reason they just will not try new food...it drives me bonkers, but I guess they could have worse issues....( what am I talking about...they do!) But they are still fabulous and adorable!

kstar - cooking is fun when you also add in that I am gluten-intolerant and have been diagnosed with IBS. The fructose is the real pain as it crops up in the oddest of things - not just fruit. Onions & leeks are off the menu for Sqk along with anything above small amounts of peas, beans, cabbage, courgettes, raw tomatoes and wheat-based products. The only fruit we have in the house most of the time is bananas (high in glucose which counteracts the fructose) and occasionally plums & currants.
Healthy eating is interesting with us - he often gets at least 3 of his 5 fruit/veg from bananas & it hasn't been unheard of for it to be all 5. We end up buying the cheap sweets as well as the fruit juice etc in the 'decent' stuff causes issues along with the more natural sweeteners. However I cannot complain - he loves lemon squash and lemon sorbet (which is all we can usually get if eating out) and on the whole will try most things - will eat curry, stir fry etc.
