Sprat's been complaining of pain in his knee after football and running. Took him to the Dr. back in July. They gave him some exercises but he hasn't been doing them. He's now complaining that the knee is giving way. Took him to the Dr. last night. She's going to refer him for physio but in the meantime recommended he doesn't do any contact sports or running.
Sprat took it quite badly last night. I don't like it when their response is anger rather than sadness! But does seem to have accpeted it now.
It could be hard for us for a while as running and football seemed to be a good release of energy and possibly stress for him.

I use exercise to help keep Simba regulalted
One if his favourites is the swing ball in the garden. He can smash hell out of that ball without too much stress on the knees. Possibity? M

Thanks, Serrakunda. We did have a swingball, but it didn't get used much.

I can understand - DS needs to do alot of exercise to help himself stay regulated which makes it doubly hard of he is injured/unwell.
I hope you can find something he can do and will enjoy...

We splashed out on a private physio and the result is that he CAN do sports again. He's got a number of exercises to do to strengthen specific muscles. Hoping we can persuade Sprat to do them regularly!

Could you try the line if he does his exercises the quicker he will get back to sport.
Aside from this dd had similar issue and was diagnosed with hypermoblitiy which resulted in her knee cap displacing .still trying to find something to give her the adrenalin rush she needs and has been told she can only walk in the summing pool no swimming what so ever.

Chart on wall with exercises to tick and rewards for so many completed? (works for me if I concentrate hard on it!)
