Hi Everyone, Happy New Year to you all, may 2016 bring you and your families more calm moments and plenty of significant (if small) breakthroughs!
Probably quite a frequently asked question, but has anyone got good suggestions for websites their kids enjoy that are fun (and possibly vaguely educational)? I was lucky enough to get a free laptop that were being given away at work due to upgrades ... so guess what the boys got for Christmas! I would like to set up some bookmarks on it with some fun websites etc, at the moment we're basically stuck on cbeebies and hour of code (which they've been doing at school) as the boys are currently as clueless as me as to what is out there for kids. As usual, GR (8) functions emotionally and developmentally at about the same level as GLF (6), so younger websites will probably work better.
Thanks all, Lolapola x

I can't remember if it was the same sort of age but Club Penguin and Moshi Monsters worked for ours for a time.

All of the kids TV channels have lovely interactive websites - Starlet is nearly nine now but we have been through the CBeebies, CBBC and Disney Junior websites on loop! They all have video clips, games, suggested activities eg crafts/ baking based on their favourite programmes.
Starlet loves the ones recommended by school - they mostly use SumDog for Maths and Oxford Owls for literacy.
We have unfortunately hit the YouTube phase - she uses it very age-appropriately and always asks if she's allowed, but it gets so tedious because we get the same clips on repeat!!!

We use squeebles makes learning their spellings fun. They can record their list each week so it is tailored to them. Fun maths games as well

Ours used to love a site called CoolMathsGames - can't quite remember how young they were when they started using them.
