Didn't we have one of these a couple of years ago of nice moments in the run up to christmas, of little lovely festive moments? I really enjoyed reading it, I think sometimes the 'big day' can be too much and some of the nicer moments are the smaller special things Before things get busy I took george to see santa on a christmas train, he loves vehicles, loved watching for the train, loved being on the train, was slightly non plussed by santa but was delighted to revie e a flashing noise making ambulance... He had a warm milk and I had a gingerbread latte... V quiet as its school hours and early on, v chilled... Lovely

92 kids through our office when we had a visitor from Lapland to our Santa's grotto. Yours truly had to dress as an elf!

Two moments this week... Peewit will be a shepherd in his school nativity on Tuesday.....he even has a line to say. For the last few days he has been busy at home looking after his imaginary sheep and saying impromptu prayers for 'peace and joy' to the world.
In an afternoon of rare calm I put one of my favourate christmas carol cd's and sipped a cup of coffee while watching the children who were totally absorbed in designing their own Christmas cards, The 'First Noel' came on and out of the blue Peewit sighed to himself....'I love this song.....'

We had an impromptu after school trip to our church in the dark to see the tree festival. Moptop sat and did a word search while Tweedledee closed her eyes and then wrote a prayer to say 'dear God ThAnk you for the burds.' Tweedledum ate his weight in biscuits and all were delighted to see a model Santa train. I was so surprised at the combination of joy on a Friday after the wreck of our week I was happily stunned.! Needless to say I was a spare part in the event.just taxi driver.LOL.

Moptop tonight grew up....sorted out the tree by himself, chattering all the time , he put it together in correct order til fully assembled and was praised no end. He was chuffed so were we. It's been his ritual with dad for a few years and now he's solo!

The pleasure the girls have in following family traditions is a delight. Curled up all together reading a section of the Christmas story each advent Sunday by candlelight is special.
