Hi has anybody seen this movie ?
It was out before the summer holidays I think.
Plot spoiler follows
It certainly wasn't the jolly romp we thought we were taking the kids to.
Scary clown & an imaginary friend that snuffs it !
I blubbered my way through it.
What did you think ?

Not a jolly romp but an intelligent film about emotions.
We loved it! Peewit loved the character anger..Lapwing loved sadness... it gave them lots to talk about. I now say to Peewit...is that anger pressing our buttons...and he know what I am talking about.
I thought it was a film every social worker involved in children should watch.. how many of our children have no positive 'core memories' to fall back upon.
But of the two summer films..minions and inside out...inside out definitely the better film!

Thought it was a very good film on all levels. Dh & I went to see it out of curiosity really. Thought it strange that it was a kids film, but one certainly to make you think. Guess it could be deep on many levels, depending on life experiences. Expected to feel sad, but surprisingly didn't - guess it's what raw emotions it touches in you. Now 'Stuart Little' - I sobbed through Hmmmmm

I loved it. Our kids, 12 and 13, weren't brilliantly keen, but it has given a platform, as Mudlark says, to discuss about their emotions driving their actions, and particularly the message that you need to let sadness take control sometimes, and that's when you get help and support. With Sprat, particularly, letting Anger take control, it's a message that I feel he needs to learn.

We took the kids and it was a great starting point for talking about early memories and emotions - DD was able to relate it to her early memories not being all happy and how that chnaged things....

I found some bunting online with all the emotions on it, I'm hoping to be able to use it to name some of the 'big feelings' I have of course covered it in sticky back plastic so is not easily destroyed!!
