Take someone 20 minutes to eat one very small bowl of rice crispies? ? I could eat that bowl in less than two minutes. I now have to leave the kitchen as the faffing and fiddling is driving me mad.

Simba once took 45 minutes to eat an apple. In the early days he was an incredibly slow eater, could take him an hour to finish a meal. A lot better now, though it did take him 35 minutes to eat a small pizza last night

DD1 always took an hour to eat a meal and could make it last two hours.....we have so much more time now we can eat a meal in a normal amount of time!

Incy is the same........I am hoping that once he gets an appreciation of time and how doing one thing slowly means he does not get any or a lot of time doing something far nicer (like playing on his tablet) he will finally eat (and generally do everything) in the timescale that is reasonable for that task! I just leave him to it now as my presence just causes him chance for even more procrastination.
I think a lot of it is karma........when I was a child one meal merged into the next as I took so long........I refused to chew anything but insisted on sucking every single thing until it disappeared........a processed pea can take a whole lot of time sucking to do that!

I do dinner lady work at our local primary school. Yesterday we were wiping and folding tables away , around a solitary table (in the middle of the hall) where ( firet six then) three kids were still sitting with a teacher. Finishing their lunch. With the other dinner lady saying to the kids that "you will be missing your time to play outside " My two are the opposite. Getting them to wait till everyone has finished eating is the hard bit here !
