Waaaaargh you would not be human if you didn't weep. Perhaps she is now joyfully chasing cats on the other side.

Thanks all, kind of glad it happened before we go away as I've been so worried about her and glad it didn't happen while we were away.
Snooz is coping really well, he's sad and keeps going quiet but he's been able to talk about her and says how quiet the house feels and that he misses her. He's been looking at photos he taken of her too. He really did let rip initially, full on screaming, but later he asked me why he wasn't crying anymore.
He's currently drawing sad faces on his fitball with a marker pen but drew a happy face too for when he feels better

Ok so after me saying snooz seemed to be coping well, we had an hour of the sofa getting thrashed with a light sabre.....he said he was pretending the sofa was the vet! I explained that the vet is there to care for animals but it didn't seem to help.....only later when we were snuggled up in my bed did he say the vet was wrong to do what she did without telling us. Ah!! So once I explained that I made the decision with her and that doggy was never going to get better and would have just got worse and been in pain did he seem to settle. My goodness he was angry!!! He also said...life without a dog is horrible

Starlet and I were inconsolable when my best friend's dog died, never mind a dog who is actually part of your immediate family. Hugs all round xx
