Serrakunda that made me laugh out loud whilst on my five minute mental health break - an elongated tip to the toilet. Tonight I am in a pop up tent, first time in about 15 years. M in van with B F and LM. Had four very little sleep nights and got long drive to Trondheim tomorrow so I get a night to sleep. Both boys been great and enjoyed trip around outdoor museum looking at Old Norwegian farming. We then blew up the kayak and LM went off with cousin and young male family friend now carer around edge of fjord.

Lovely country - hope you are eating lots of smoked salmon. Beware of arctic char, a great delicacy with a magnificent set of bones.
Will you go out to the Lofoten? Or turn east to Sweden and Finland?

We have arrived in Andenes, the most North part of The Lofoten Islands. I have never been anywhere so dramatic, stunning and pretty. I want to live here. Cannot believe I got My two Kids to The Artic Circle even if Big Fish Needed suctioning whilst there. We are now static for three days, beach, swimming, kayaking and whale Trip.

We have left Tromso. Very sad to be leaving the islands. Really loved Senja watching an amazing sunset. We all kayaked, all went out on whale ship and saw whales up close. I was the only one to throw! Little Minnow going to speak to reception to get washing machine token. He slept under a table on ferry out to Island. Amazing that he was relaxed enough to sleep never mind under the table. He's had a couple of meltdowns mainly tired related but short. Had a bit of problem with Big Fish' meds but after frantic phonecalls to consultant got th sorted. So now on to Finland and the three trig point where Norway Sweden and Finland all meet in a lake. We're staying in cabin with sauna for two nights!!!!

Now you can have the authentic sauna (bastu) experience of rushing from the sauna and jumping into the lake

We have made the Three Trig point. 30 mins on a small boat, wheelchair roped to the top and Big Fish lying on floor. Then hard 3 km hike to the trig point. An hour there with LM using his free running and gymnastics skills getting on and off then hike back to boat. Apparently we are the first people in the boatman's 14 years of getting someone in a wheelchair to the trig point. Well as far as he could remember. We are now in Rovaniemi for the joy? that is Santa's village tomorrow. We can't come in winter due to BF being unable to fly so have driven here. LM really different this time and so much more relaxed and enjoying the experiences. Though his hyper vigilance very useful today as he questioned the two late teenagers why they weren't in the sitting room or in bed when he woke during the night. Her answer - they were out working out what the trees were! I almost choked the laugh down. We have a teenage romance blossoming. Male 19 year old carer and neice 18 on Thursday. They've known each other since 10 and 11 from going on camps with us all together. Ahhh. Always thought they'd make a lovely couple.

The cracks are showing. 24 hours a day of full time in the spotlight of being parented is really putting pressure on LM. Young male carer who is with us has an autistic brother and he is really seeing the similarities; always got to be right, very pedantic, very controlling, etc. I think he can disguise it better when we have the day apart (school) but being with each other 24/7 is really highlighting the issues. We're managing though. But having to do lots of this is what a parent does, this is to keep you safe, etc. Expecting you to do jobs is not me saying I don't like you/want you just I am expecting you to do jobs (all stuff for himself like put your clothes back in your bag, hang your wet swim wear on the line. He's been brilliant when it's been all exciting activity but we're having a quiet few days to recharge and it's harder work! Big Fish didn't sleep for three nights but has now slept through from 10pm til 7am three nights so has redeemed himself. We have done rally museum, motorbike museum, Sybelius Sculpture and Doomsday church over 5 days. Had supper with Finnish carer's family tonight them on boat to Sweden tomorrow for three nights of wild camping on the South Coast. Still glad we came and the memories will be good.

We are parked just off a little road, in a layby, overlooking molten rock going down into the sea. Listening to crickets and fish jumping. Drinking a small bottle of cava and eating chocolate (22.55 our time). As I primed the feed pump and attached the Cpap I did have a little smile to muself that there is probably no one else doing the same thing! Cannot believe the month is nearly over! Soon back to the realities of disability services and driving four hours a day. Though we passed the 3000 mile mark today.
