We have now applied for the adoption order for Babybug! Yay! SW needs to know the date DH's decree absolute was granted and guess what he doesn't know where it is!!! He is rubbish at having a place for things and nothing ever goes back in the same place twice!!! So now we have to go to the court to ask them if they can find out the date it was granted. Complete nightmare

Oooh, that's exciting and seems so quick (but I bet it doesn't to you!) There are benefits to being a single adopter!

Our SW put the application in after 9 weeks although it should be 10 weeks! BB has been with us 12 weeks today! It does actually seem to have gone quite quickly!

Glad you got the info so quickly. We recently had to send for another copy of one of our girls' adoption certificates as she needed a new passport. When I looked at my carefully organised (sort of) file for her, I found only a photocopy. But as my DH organised her last passport five years ago I blamed him for never returning the original to me! Your DH sounds very similar to mine. Mind you we have accumulated so much paper work over the years, that along with all the day to day stress of parenting, working etc, I think we are both not as organised as we once were...
Hope the Adoption goes through smoothly.

Milly we are expecting at least BB's birth father to contest the order not that he has had enough time to make sufficient changes since PO was granted in March but he'll do it because he can and just drag it out a bit!! We will be more surprised if he doesn't contest TBH.
