Tonight was swimming lesson number eight... And Starlet was moved up to stage four! From a complete non swimmer to stage four in four hours! She looks so happy in the pool, totally in her element! Brilliant teaching too. Very proud mummy :-)

Wow that is impressive! Future Olympian in the making?
I remember the first time one of mine swam a width of the pool. I was watching from the cafe and I filled up with pride and tears and nearly made a complet pratt of myself, but managed to hold it together thankfully.

I get so caught up in awe at how they teach that I barely notice Starlet lol... I know that sounds mean. We all sit along the sides of the pool so you can see what they're doing. Eight kids in a class, two male teachers in the pool with them, hands on teaching... They do things like swimming UNDER the kids so they can watch their strokes. Then sometimes the kids have to go underwater to watch the teachers swim to pick up tips. They get so much attention it's fantastic - exactly what I would love personalised teaching in my classroom to look like if I was able to actually TEACH instead of ticking boxes!

We have to stay - I guess because it's so hands on, they unfortunately need to protect themselves from allegations. It's so effective though!

In our leisure centre there is a cafe with a glass wall right next to the teaching pool so we can sit and watch whilst having a coffee, kills two birds with one stone.
