Yes, it's the grumpy old git, again, complaining.
Our local paper ran a story about someone who'd been killed in a house fire. It was, apparently, really tragic because the victim was "young, beautiful and talented".
For some reason, this really does stir up my grumpiness. Is it any less tragic, I want to rant, if the victim is middle-aged, ugly and a bit of a mediocrity?

Well, speaking as a dumpy, grumpy, middle aged old bat, I would join you in that rant
I was speculating at work today if I sent back a camel from Morocco to sit in my chair, would you notice
I do believe some of the bright young things actually thought about it for a minute
Then they remembered who supplies the Hobnobs, I have my uses

I occasionally watch the reconstructions of American murders on TV (sad, I know!) and every time without fail the victim is described as 'beloved' in the community. It really annoys me too. They can't all have been 'beloved'!

You are quite right Corkwing. You'd probably be lynched though if you expressed that view in public.......you're safe with us though!
Actually I just had a thought....your comment was a bit Clarksonesque...do you fancy a new job on Top Gear. There may be one going ;-)

Like, like, like! If I died in a housefire there would be no mention in the papers at all!
