I've been invited into school next week to a staff meeting to talk about two of our kids. Will also be trying to talk about traumatised kids generally, although only have about 15 minutes. Could be a very packed 15 minutes!

Blimey 15 minutes is not a lot of time is it?
Could you take lots of handouts to pass out with lots of links for them to look at/read?
Let us know how it goes.

Not sure if a form of it still exists on AUK site.the long version you split group in to small groups each with a given age of a child- pregnancy, 0-12months 12 - 18monsth etc till about Age of 5 .you give them brick size pieces of paper and on them they write what a child require food warmth clothing love nurture etc. then groups come together and construct a wall.on the floor Then think about what your child missed out on and the wall would collapse. As parents we have to plug these gaps. When I need quick method I prepare wall before hand and construct it and as I take out the bricks that my dd did not have it seems to hit home and people have some understanding of where dd comes from. It was from AUK piece of cake training.

I think that it went well. Teachers seemed to be engaging and asked good questions! I've left them with a handout, as a couple of you suggested, with additional reading, etc. so very pleased with it.
