I got 7. I'm glad I'm not a grammar Nazi, although there was one question where there is FIERCE debate over which answer is correct.

As Henry Higgins put it "Why can't the English teach their children how to speak?"

7 for me. Harder than I thought. The one I see used wrongly all the time is advice and advise, people always seem to use the wrong one and it really bugs me.

I only got 5! This, in addition to having to ask Goggle what an adverb was this morning, makes me ever so slightly ashamed!

I admit to getting wound up by people writing "comprised of". It was interesting to read, recently, of someone who dedicates loads of time to trying to eradicate it from Wikipedia. And I hate apostrophe's in plural's. Often seen on market stall's, where they sell lot's of potato's.

I hate "very rare" surely it is rare or it is not. No idea if it's correct but I don't like it.
One of my many pet hates is using the wrong tense. "He brung it over" shudder. In Adrian Mole his step sister uses bad English to irrate her father as bad behaviour didn't work. Made me chuckle
Pooh bear - I have to check my sons homework when he isn't there so I can use a calculator, check the Internet & dictionary;)

Hmmm ok managed 9 here - but I do spend a lot of time correcting grammar & English in PhD theses and research papers.... Lack of articles is what gets my boat - but that is probably because that is what I end up correcting a lot as a lot of our students native languages do not have equivalents to 'a' or 'the'. Oh and complex sentences that take up a lot of lines. Grammar checkers hate technical writing as cannot write in first person so end up writing some convoluted material

9 for me too.
Incorrect use of the apostrophe is what annoys me
As in its and it's - there and they're etc.

Ah - 6 for me too - but I did try it on my phone so couldn't see all the apostrophes!! Did better on the laptop!
Has anyone dared to try the "How posh are you?" in the related articles below this quiz?
