On top of everything that is going on in our journey to adopt we had to have one of our cats put to sleep yesterday ? he suddenly lost the use of his back legs and was dragging himself around the house. Thankfully DH was home and on a rest week so was awake, I was at work however so he called me to tell me. We phoned the vets and took him there 20mins later but there was very little they could do. He had had something similar to a stroke but the clot doesn't go up to the brain it goes the opposite way. They could've given him treatment that could've cost between £300 & £500 which could made minimal or no difference at all and would've been in pain the whole time. So sadly after having for 12 1/2 years from a kitten we had to say a very sad goodbye to our boy. Attachment Deleted

Oh Ladybug, I so feel for you. Cats are magic, they are wonderful companions and losing them is so hard. No amount of "you did the right thing for him" is going to bring him back or lessen the heartache you must feel. We lost one of ours 3 years ago and the kids still become upset when we are getting to her anniversary. She went in style leaving us 11/11/2011, rememberance day, and a date we will not forget. Please take good care of yourself and allow yourself to grieve. {{Gentle hugs}} xxx

Awh Ladybug I'm so sorry to hear this on top of everything else going on. You truly have had a bad run of luckt that has to change soon.
Be kind to yourself and grieve for your feline friend. I know how you feel as I felt it when I had to have my 15 year old cat put to sleep when he developed an aggressive cancer in his hip. At 15, vet said he wouldn't have coped with losing a limb so we had to let him go and it was beartbreaking as he had seen me through losing all of my babies and had been a huge comfort to me over the years. We have a new cat now, but old cat was extra special, as we'd been through so much together for so long.
Hugs to you xx

So sorry to hear this. I had a cat for over 16 years all during my years of infertility and the adoption process etc. She was so loving and I really doted on her so I do understand how you feel. 8 years on I could still cry over her loss despite having two girls and two new cats ( well they're 7 now) xx

I am sorry for your loss. It's too soon for you to feel I know. But the joy your cat gave you will stay with you forever and be part of your life. I know the memories of my two beloved cats, both gone now over 15 years ago, stay with me always, they were magical and I still like to think about them and how much I loved them both, what little people they both were!
your lovely cat will always be with you, and you will in the future conjure the memory of how he felt and smelt and all the funny things he did .... those memories will bring you happiness, and what a wonderful gift that is from your cat to you... both
