Went to see Paddington tonight
nice bit at the end about being a family because you love each other. Big talk on the bus home about that, I got a big hug and a kiss when we went past the family court where we had celebration day. happy memories

Not seen it myself, but EDD has and she said it was great, she loved it. High praise from a 14 year old (albeit a young for age one).

We went last week, three generations laughing out loud!
There is a quite a tough start as Paddington's aunt sends him to London putting the "please look after this bear" label round his neck. I agree with Serrakunda a lovely bit at the end about not having to look the same but if you love someone that makes them family and they stick together.

it is a classic adoption story isn't it. Think about the havoc Paddington leaves in his wake.
When Simba first came home we watched Paddington for hours. We had one DVD with about 8 stories on it. He got the complete Paddington box set for his birthday.
His memory box is a Paddington suitcase I found in the local antique shop

And it shows the way love grows, isn't always instant with everyone. And that love is there even if you cause chaos ! I took ds2 to see it and he loved it. I dug out my old Paddington from ds1 s cupboard and its downstairs for Christmas. I now have a metal Paddington suitcase courtesy of the cinemaa special snack kit ( popcorn juice and sweets in it, not a marmalade sandwich) Brill P.s. I have heard that the latest Penguins of Madagascar is good too, but have not seen it as my sister took ds2 to that one.

We saw it last night. There was one line something along the lines of 'my body travelled quickly but my heart is a bit slower'.

We went to see it today as a family.
Very well done. We are big Paddington fans in our house and I feared they would spoil it. But it was wonderful :-)
I asked our BS aged 24 what he thought of it on the way out and he said that it was about a family who takes in a small person that causes mayhem and grow to love him and he could identify with that!
However Dash said it was scary and he told me while we were actually watching it that he didn't want the DVD. Also woke just now to say he never wants to see it again. :-(
Saw the trailer for Shaun the sheep film coming out in Feb and will definitely go to that. Maybe go to penguins as well.

Also Dash asked me twice why the explorer died. I said he must have been very old, which sparked a conversation in the car about the film the explorer made being set much earlier that when Nicole Kidman's character would have been a child (in the 70s? certainly not the era of Pathe news style black and white films!)
