Ed the cat hasn't come in for breakfast, he is usually sitting outside my door at 6.30 howling for food. I thought I heard him squeak when I went out looking for him but I can't find him.
i have the beginning of a migraine, I feel stressed about my stupid job. Problems with Simba's school transport persist, looks like his journey is even longer now.
i love my cat. He kept me going all through the wretched approval process and whilst I was waiting those long 9 months to get Simba home.

I've been calling and searching for an hour. Have to go to work, I'm in enough trouble there as it is
Left some breakfast out for him just in case, but I don't have a good feeling about this.

Hi Serrakunda, My cat went missing about a year ago - she's quite old (not sure exactly, but probably 14 ish). During the previous few years she had always come in at night, so when she didn't come in I was a little concerned but when she didn't turn up the next morning I was properly worried. After day 3, my housemate and I both had to admit that, given her age and her usual predictability that she probably wasn't coming home again. :-(
However ... Day 5, I open the back door to put her catty things in the garage (I couldn't bare to look at them any more) and in strolls the cat asking for breakfast as if nothing had happened! ... I picked her up and burst into tears!
Such a worrying time for you Serrakunda, but all may not be lost yet ... cats have a way of surprising us! Here's hoping, Lolapola xx

Oh no .... Hope he comes back. Is he micro chipped? Years ago my parents lost a cat which turned up in a town 12 miles away - found due to the chip. Thought that the cat hitched a ride somehow! Unlikely the same thing has happened of course but cats do turn up sometimes. Give it a bit of time. X

hope he turns up soon. We lost a cat for several months once and eventually decided to get another one. A few weeks later cat number 1 came home and resented the intruder, who thought cat number 1 was the intruder! Cat number 1 lived to be 20 (died a few months ago). I hope Ed is just having a little adventure. Keep us posted Serrakunda

No cat. Simba devasted, has been checking under the beds to make sure. Very difficult bedtime, he thinks he's done something to make Ed not love him anymore, his little family is broken

Has he turned up? Do you have any neighbours with female cats that might be in season - that used to send my boys nutty! Cats are funny things. We had one once who disappeared for days at a time. Don't worry too much - if you can help it. MMx

Hard. One of ours went for about 5 days last month. Very unlike her.
I also had an aged cat go missing years ago. 6mths later he came back - very thin with a bald nose. Who knows where he had been! He was about 13 then & lived to a ripe old 20yrs.
Fingers crossed for you & your cat.

Hope your cat comes home soon. We too had a cat that disappeared and we replaced. He turned up on one of the beds several months later. That was the only time I ended up with 4 cats as well as other assorted pets!

Have you put him on www.animalsearch.co.uk, local media sites - (round here gossip girls on FB is really good) Very sad. Rally hope he reappears (we had one that often disappeared - was being fed by a local elderly lady).

As Madrid said, check with vets as well if you haven't done that.
I had forgotten that one of our cats went missing while we were on holiday once (this was actually after we got a 3rd cat!). Our cats were being fed by a friend but one decided to leave home! He was microchipped but for whatever reason we weren't contacted. I phoned vet down the road and sure enough someone had reported a cat which had 'moved in' and we went round there and got him back!
Hugs to you both

Well cats are cats, it's pointless speculating really, if he was stuck somewhere close I should be able to hear him howling, I've spent hours walking up and down between the gardens checking what I could and leafleted the houses. Simba is really upset so I think that after two days I don't want to give him any false hope that he might turn up. I need to get his behaviour back on an even keel. There is a cat re homing thing at the local church in a week or so, there are usually loads of kittens, I'll see how we go and mention it to him next week I can't bear a catless house, I miss my cat boy

If you get a new cat why not just make it into an indoor cat? Or concider 2 than they can play together. Build a catio and the cat can still be outside but safely. I have gone through the 'cat away' worries many times, sometimes they came back after a long time sometimes they never came back. I have now arrived at a point where I just keep them inside and outside in a catio. Attachment Deleted
