i was thinking about donatella's repsonse to the post in approved adopters about the wait where she talked about her babies being conceived in time with her approval etc and wondering how other people's stories worked out...
squirrel was born on the day we started the first day of our prep group howler was born on the day we were linked with squirrel (and her unofficially) we found out george was on the way on intros with howler
sound sillly, but i kind of feel our paths were always meant to interweave
wondering about other's stories and didn;t want to hi-jack claire's v sad post with something lighter

Starlet's panel where adoption was agreed was the same day as my approval panel.
On a slight side note, the couple who I have become really close friends with from my prep group were at both approval and matching panels on the same days as me.

Ds1 was born 11 months after we got married. Nice timing, always felt right somehow.

Timings and coincidences for us..
Pinks initials are the same as mine, her birth surname and my birth surname was the same. Her bm birthday is the same as my Dads.
I was going through IVF the day she was born and in fact I have a very special photo at home of myself and some very dear friends which was taken at a wedding the day she was born.
We got officially linked on my Hubbys birthday and she came home on our Nephews birthday. :-)
A very good sign..:-) :-)

We sent out enquiry letters to neighbouring LA's (as our LA didn't have any large sibling groups).
On the day our letter arrived on the family finder's desk she received details of our family to place.
Definitely meant to be!!

My DD's birth surname is the same as my Mum's maiden name. YDD's name is the same as my sisters daughter. Niece - (who was 4 when I adopted the girls) said "Is she called after me?" EDD's birthday is on the same day as my sisters twins, so my Mum has 3 of her 8 grandchildren born on the same day, very expensive!

Two significant events in DS's history were on mine and my brother's birthdays.
DS was born on my Grandmother's birthday
Celebration hearing was held a year to the day after we were told about him

Can't think of any dates that coincide although dd2 wasn't actually born when we were approved for a second child - so it's kind of like we were there waiting for her (long wait, nearly two years).
But my dds and I all share the same middle name albeit spelt differently in one case, so that has always felt like a link between us.

It's odd but it was only when responding to the other post that I actually thought about it and mine are now 13 (today!), 10 and 8. Probably been too exhausted to do the maths before now!!

My AD was born as my hubby & I moved to the antipodes to start a new life as we were fed up with waiting for placement & felt we should put plan B into action. We came home to the UK for financial reasons only. Our original approving authority didn't want to know us when we came back..... ( we has also undergone adoption process in antipodes). We said we would give it one more shot with another SS authority - & within 12 moths AD was with us. The day she moved in , playing on the radio, on the way home was KT Tunstall ' The other side of the world to me'. How spooky is all of this. Needless to say we tell the story of how we flew to the other side of the world whilst we were waiting for our AD to join us.... and the song is loved by us all & is v poignant

Our 2 were taken into care only days after we enquired with the same authority about adoption. DD's birthday is our wedding anniversary.

My DS was placed for adoption elsewhere before me. It disrupted after a few months. The week he was moved out was the week I went for my first conversation with my VA. He was calling me . . .

Sqk's birthday is within a few days of DH's and his placement order came through just as we finished our home study (only over a year later than originally hoped for). meant he was there for us - we were identified as a potential match a month before our approval panelalthough we didn't find out about him till 4 days before when his profile was given to us, It just felt so right.
