I've only just been put in touch with you all again. I don't like the new AUK Board. For those who don't know me my two are in their late twenties now. We had many tribulations over the years. Things are going pretty well for them at present. My daughter was off work with Depression for a couple of months but is back at work again. She invited me over for lunch today! My son and his wife are caring well for their year old baby. Their four older children are in long term care or adopted. He has a job interview tomorrow so fingers crossed. He had sad news this week. When he was at secondary school he and two other boys in his class had diagnoses of ADHD and they were all on medication. Some time ago he heard that one of the boys had died of a heroin overdose. He has just heard that his other former friend has also died of a heroin overdose. He said he cried buckets when he heard the news. It is so sad. I am so sad for their loving families. He told me he would never take drugs.
Adopted my two children 22 years ago, when they were aged 6 & 7. We had many problems. They were eventually diagnosed with ADHD & FAE. DD with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and PTSD. DD was very ill with ME for 3 years. Now in their late 20's, have settled down a lot. DD works. DS has a young child.

Glad you are still standing and have found your way here.
Sorry to hear about your dd but hope she was supported well and that she can keep the depression at bay - pleased that she has been able to return to work. Hope the lunch went well - so nice to be able some normal mother and daughter things!
Brilliant news re the LO but sad for your son - yet more loss in a still yet young life. I do hope the interview goes well and whatever the outcome it gives him some positives - getting an interview in such a competitive market these days is a positive in itself but keeping toes and fingers crossed nevertheless.
Much love and strength to you always
Mum to DS ( 30 and a spell in his 20s living with bm on, off, on) and DD late 20's and newly independent - phew ) ...and still standing!!
