Cheeky imp had his first settling in session at his play group today, and I stayed with him. Was so proud of him watching him play with the others, listen to questions, join in games, start his own games, and follow requests from the staff. He just loved it and seems to be looking forward to going back. I know it's not going to be simple (he's been talking about FC today which is often a sign of nervousness), and we will take it slowly and carefully, but given the rubbish start he had (lots of moves before move to us), he is such a little star. Im a very proud and slightly teary mummy!
His worry about going without me is "who will make it better if I have a bang going down the slide mummy?" Fair question, and one that melted my heart....
just needed to share with folks who will understand!
thanks for reading squeak
ps. 14 months ago, on the other boards, I asked some of you for help regarding food and getting him to eat anything other than pasta. Well, thank you for your thoughts & suggestions about time and perseverance. This week he ate unpureed chicken for the first time, & peas, carrots and egg fried rice... We are getting there!

Ahh, bless: proud moment watching him show little signs of appropriate steps towards mini-independence...he's obviously come on leaps and bounds (on the food front as well). Lovely to hear.

Well done you Mummy. Sounds like you are doing a FAB job with your Cheeky Imp coming on in leaps and bounds. Great to hear of his progress on the food front too. Don't blame you for feeling teary - Just wait until he learns to swim for the first time - I was blubbing I was so proud.

Thanks for the encouragement! Have been at the end of some very very controlling behaviour today, so good to log in and read your happy comments. Along wards we go.... Deep breathing and probably more chocolate needed... Squeak
