Hooray! It all becomes very real when you see pictures, doesn't it? I felt life begin to accelerate when I knew the children were really coming. I got so excited, I felt like jumping up and down, flapping my arms and generally squawking.
Less than a month now...

Congrats, Ladybug. So glad you've finally got good news and that all the waiting and heartache along the way have not deterred you. Wow, you're going to be a mummy soon.

Good luck with the photos and albums Ladybug!
Littlebee was almost 11 months when she came home and she still loves the TOMY talking album which amazingly still works almost 3 years later! By far her favourite thing was a helium balloon with a picture of us on it which had 'mummy and daddy' above the photo. We brought it on day 2 of intros and by the end of intros she was pointing at our faces and saying mama and dada. She loved watching it float up and pouncing on it and the texture and crinkling it made. The deflated balloon is still in her memory box.
An adopter whose child used to be in and out of hospital used to buy a similar balloon which they would tie to the end of his bed in hospital so he could see their photo when he woke up or was scared. Such a lovely idea for any child in hospital I think!
Let us know how you get on. I remember taking the tripod to the park before 7 and we posed for photos with Littlebees soft toy on the slide and swing. So embarrassing but such fun and so much nervous laughter with the enormity of what we were doing and what the future was to hold. Happy memories now. Enjoy!

Now our Los are older, they love their intro vids because they feature their favourite toys, their house and us being silly... I do look at tgem Abd think omg my house used to be so much tidier We inadvertently made a intros vid for george because we had just got into whats app and were whatsapp ing my family videos of what was happening behind the scenes and thoughts on first days, day before home coming etc and family were sending back clips saying how gorgeous he is and how they can't wait to meet him etc and putting them all together on a disc was an unintentional really nice keepsake!

Don't forget to switch off the tomy before mp, ours was crazy sensitive and went of with me booming "hello squirrel, in mummy!" In best childrens presenter tones every time the fan went off. Did break the ice in mo tho ?

Hi Ladybug, Congratulations - such wonderful news! For my boys' DVD, I got my sister to video me reading four stories that I thought they would enjoy. It was a big hit and GR even took his DVD into school and his whole class watched as his new mummy read them all a story!

I keep looking at the 18 photos we have of Little baby bug. Is it too early to say I love him without even having met him??
We have our pre-matching meeting Tuesday week with SWs, FC and medical advisor. Still then have 2 weeks to perfect the welcome book(s)! Still not feeling real and I guess it won't until he is at home with us. Been quite a journey over the last 2 years and this is just the beginning.

Def not too early... We had about 6 of squirrel and two of howler ( that we were not supposed to have as she had no po) and a vid after linking and matching... Dh abd I used to text the same pics back and forth to each other all the time in the two weeks before intros, saying omg this is our daughter, can you believe how beautiful she is!!!!
It's a lovely time where you can let it sink in and really start to believe that this lo is your lo
You so deserve this! Enjoy the anticipation (and fear!) Xxxx

Knight I am so excited and cannot actually believe we are here at last! The more I look at his pics and the videos the more I know that when it comes to matching panel I am going to cry like a blubbering idiot!! Just been into his room to see best how to arrange it for the photos for the welcome book. I am having to stop myself buying toys and clothes as obviously the match isn't approved as yet and we don't know what clothes, toys etc he'll come with!

Ooooohhh I so well remember this......
I used to take myself upstairs & just sit in what was going to be the boys bedroom.... ooh I daydreamed for hours! It was a truely wonderful time.... Coz they were such tinies they shared a room for some years.....
Enjoy this time it is just the greatest.... standing looking over the precipice hoping dreaming & loving never quite believing all of your hopes dreams & wishes will come true.... well they have for me/us in spades... more than I dared hope..... I wish you as much & more success xxx hugs xxx

For me, it was making the beds to take photos for their welcome books that really did it for me. Their room went through such turmoil to get it ready but all of a sudden it looked like a bedroom for two boys! In fact, thinking about it ... when I took the welcome book photos I only had one mattress, so I folded up my double duvet to act as a mattress on one of the bed frames with the made up single duvet on top which made the bed look even more comfy and inviting! Happy Times, LP xx
