still on the trail of Simba's past reports. have a set of contradictory reports - one outlines a number of significant sensory processing issues - done by OT, then hey presto, 5 months later community paed says no problems at all
phoned adoption support ( office open Tues and Thurs 10 - 13.00 - time your crisis carefully) answer phone message saying that due to staff shortage its closed on Thursdays. Oh I hear you cry but it is Tuesday, but they arent answering anyway.
Four weeks since I submitted complaint re school transport, no response to that either, have escalated to my Councillor.

Cyberhugs Serrakunda. We're battling the 'leave a message and we won't get back to you' system as well.

I've had problems over a report written by our children's disability team. After three phone calls the offending terminology was removed but they still managed to get it factually wrong. Being end of march everyone was on holidays! So another long message left. No reply so I emailed the chief exec of the council. Guess what. They were on the phone within 30 minutes, head of service called the following morning, the report will be redone and the assessment looked at from a different perspective. Hopeless.

TBH, the OT is the one to trust re. sensory issues as that is their specialism, not a community Paed.
How VERY frustrating for you though.

Sorry about this but the cat gives rubbish feedback, so here we go,
Very detailed Report dated June 09 by clinical psychologist confirms diagnosis of autism, for some areas at mild end of spectrum, refers to the diagnostics used
Shorter report dated Jan 09 by Dr X, community paediatrician who agrees Simba is on the autistic spectrum
OT report dated December 09, 14 pages so very detailed, I recognise the child described in this report as the one who came home to me in April 2012', it recommends sensory integration therapy to be included in statement as educational need, concludes Simba presents with complex difficulties associated with dyspraxia aka developmental co-ordination disorder. The report recommends 48 hours per year of OT support.
One page letter dated 14 June 09 by Dr X again, is of the view that there are no sensory issues of concern, and he no longer meets requirements for formal diagnosis of ASD
Head teachers report dated 8 November 2011 which states primary need is ASD. Does refer to 6 hours OT support which includes time for assessment, goal planning and training of staff. I spoke to the post adoption SW today who swears blind there are no other reports, this implies that in 5 months he made such staggering progress, nothing short of miraculous that he was 'un diagnosed' though there are no diagnostics or other evidence of why and from the age of 5 yrs 10 months to when he came to live with me in April 2012 when he was 7 3/4 there were no further reviews other than LAC medicals.
I am confused. I'm not wiling him to be ASD but this doesn't feel right to me. Or am I just getting my knickers in a twist about nothing. It matters because I'm considering taking him out of special school , I need to be clear so I can get the right support in place. Another consultation with GP tomorrow. Think we have to go down reassessment route.

From reading all that I'd say reassessment is the best route.
So much does change as they age in terms of how they 'present'. But the basic underlying traits must surely be there.
Dr X sounds a bit iffy to me!

Absolutely agree things can change, a lot of things in the OT report have improved but because I use his DLA to pay a personal trainer who effectively does what the report says an OT should be doing, it's the chanting and squeaking which has escalated, 45 minutes and counting tonight. Just whizzed down the Coventry grid form to give myself an indicator and I've ticked about 80% of the boxes on the autism side and hardly any on the attachment side.
No I don't have a great deal of confidence in Dr X
