Hi,
Poppet will be starting pre-school quite soon. I am fortunate that it is funded, and that they are holding stay and play sessions for 5 weeks. I am pleased as I think she will get to know other children/staff and l am able to stay to help ease her anxiety.
Now, I have downloaded the doc from the other site 'let's learn together' and the hertfordshire pamphlet, however I recall reading a thread (not sure where) where someone said that pre-school/nursery staff have training re:development? (Not really sure) Which translated to knowledge regarding the attachment cycle.
Does anyone remember this? Is anyone trained in early years education? Clutching at straws but l thought I would ask.
Thanks

All nursery and pre-school staff will have some training. Many are having on-going training and staff development. Some may even have degrees in early years development. They will know lots of things you and I don't BUT I would assume they know less about attachment issues and the impact of early neglect and trauma than your average adopter. I think there are resources here and on the AUK site that you can pass to them to ensure they know what they need to know.

Agree with daffin.... You would be extraordinaryly lucky to find a pre school with attachment trained staff....
But who knows never say never....
Good Luck.....

Hi
Thanks for the replies, I was thinking along the same lines as you both.
