Family member ruined Christmas. Not easy to put into words. Just feeling very low as result and struggling to sleep. Keep crying. But little one has been absolute star and given me some much needed smiles. Next year, my plan is for it to just be LO and me!

Oh so sorry you were let down by family. It's so disappointing as you expect they'll be in tune with what's best for you and LO. Glad you had some good times too. Stay strong, I know it's a tough time for you. It will ease soon. x

Poor you Ad - Minnie...İ suffered from Family Christmas disappointment so when İ adopted my 2nd İ used that as the excuse to set up my own family Christmas traditions (İ was a single adopter back then). İf you are feeling up to it...and back at home now? maybe you could rewind the day and have a 2nd happier Christmas Day....

Not good Ad-Minnie although glad to hear LO tried to cheer you up. Family was fine here but all my parents grandchildren are adopted. At my parents it was them, DH, I & Sqk, my sister, BIL and their 2 so people who understand. You take care if yourself and hopefully have a better day today.

Sorry to hear that. It's good to make your own Christmas Day traditions that may or may not include relatives and do what you want. Christmas Day has so many expectations placed on it that for many the reality doesn't fit the dream. Do your own Christmas dinner today and just enjoy being a family.

Sorry to hear Christmas has been tough
Recently I read that for children who struggle at Christmas they don't have the advantage of an adult in that an adult will have had more good Christmas's than bad & can at least remember a pleasant Christmas & look forward to next year. Whereas a child can only remember & can't always grasp the passing of time. I'm not explaining myself well.
I hope that for those of you that have had tough Christmas's this year can look forward
Roll on Easter eh ? 4 days off & relaxed time as relatives or friends aren't cheesed off if you don't visit !
