Oh thank heavens theres just one week left before Christmas day.... the crazy behaviours are just soooo draining. I am permanently on the WPB because I can't help but lose patience all too often. My two just feeding off each other- just back from an hour at the park to try and bring things down but as soon as we walk in the door it's back to nonsense.zcc
Thank goodness for the gifts/money/ vouchers posted early that I've been able to give in drip feeds/ spend gradually, though know that the in laws will over do it as usual despite our begging them not to. Things is they see excited children they don't see them explode when we get home jumping around like they are on hot coals....
Ah well, thank heavens it comes but once a year......
And breathe..!!!!!!!!

It's hard Smileycat. This is our best year so far but we've learnt by past mistakes and my dd is now nearly 9 and able to tell us that she's not coping so well. Things are very low key here but there are just some things we can't avoid. Hang in there. Ceci

Oh thank goodness it isn't just me!
Pink has been driving me bonkers. She is exhausted, argumentative and everything is a huge drama at the mo.
She ( and me) simply isn't coping..I'll be sooo glad when its all over!
Collects cushion and makes way to wpb..again!

Smiley Cat ..I know what you mean...relatives seeing the excited children and their apparently normal high levels of excitement...and the ever present knowledge that as soon as they get home the fall out begins.. and its such a hard juggling act to manage the behaviour and expectations of the children and the relatives...it is exhausting.......

Impossible to know but I THINK Starlet's behaviour is more to do with end of term tiredness then Christmas. She seems to be coping fairly well with changes at school and the excitement, but even with 11 plus hours sleep per night she is exhausted. Roll on tomorrow when we can find our own routine and reconnect a bit.

Doesn't it drive you mad Mudlark..... I feel like taping what happens when the door shuts and saying so watch this, do you think this high pitched screaming and door slamming is what you call normal happy children? This is thanks to you staying too long and hyping them up.... Thanks so much, just what I needed!! Grrrr!!!!!
