I ended up in A&E today after I disturbed a wasps nest on the allottment on Thursday evening. There was no one else in that part of the site but I did bump into my allotment neighbour on the way out. I think if I was allergic to wasp stings I would probably be dead from anaphalactic shock, I don't think my neighbour would have found me in time. I was stung at least 12 times that I can count, have huge swellings and blisters but live to tell the tale.
And there was my mum worrying all those years I travelled across Africa that I would get trampled by elephants or held up by bandits ( little does she know!) . And it was strawberry picking on my allotment that has come closest to seeing me off. Fate - when your number is up, its up, not my time this week

Sounds horrendous. Speedy recovery and hope you're not in too much pain. One sting is bad enough, but 12?

Ouch! And scary thought re anaphylaxis. Hope you're recovering well.
You've reminded me, my friends had a guy who used to do bits of work in their garden. He DID get trampled to death by an elephant. (Not in their garden! Sorry for gallows humour!)
