I'd be a bit concerned about this to be honest. It states that the service is for young people who
Have complex mental health problems Are presenting with a high level of risk towards themselves or others
Are currently accommodated within secure services
Either have a forensic history or are at risk of involvement with criminal justice services
Have complex multi-agency involvement
Which of these criteria are they suggesting Baa meets. I know they probably don't have to meet them all but I'm not really recognising Baa in that list. I don't like the bias towards the young people ast risk of substance abuse or getting involved with police/criminal justice system. Baa has his issues but this just doesnt feel like him. Are they making assumptions because he is adopted. Presumably you can say thank but no thanks if you don't think its right. I'd certainly be demanding more information

Thanx both... yep serrakunda that is my worry...
School say that his extreme frustration following certain bullying incidents have resulted in explosive non regulated explosions from him, resulting in high threats of violence from him to the perps... the like of which school say they need guidence on how to manage ... school have put in place many in house interventions but are at a loss on how to step it up re the extreme anger frustration & violent outbursts....
Meeting today to ask why I cannot attend... told I would get full report of recommendations.... If I am unsure I feel sure I can refuse for baa to take part.... I will obviously be insistant that any camhs led interventions I have to be present for..... assuming I give permission for it to go ahead in the first place...
I am very worried as I feel this is not really designed for his level of anxiety & self esteem led frustration & over reactive high intensity anger....
Thanx Any More Experiences Or Opinions Welcomed....

well they could start by dealing with the bullying!
I suppose he meets the high risk to himself and /or others. I think if their role is to recommend strategies or therapies, or god forbid assessments which might lead to diagnosis, then its probably fair enough. I suppose my worry would be that they make assumptions about him being adopted - cos he's probably a bad'un, jail fodder in the making etc etc
I'll ask around my other groups to see if anyone has come across it.

Thanx....
I know I'm biased but......
I aggree with you I can't see him in the description!? But this terror called testosterone isn't helping he does get very angry....... I am not there I don't see the outbursts.... he still cannot self regulate or see when he has totally lost it...... He needs help with regulating his frustration....

Just a few thpughts, Moo. Re school, they need to deal with the bullies, not put their hands up in the air and say they don't know how. Full stop. Yes, your son may react violently towards it, but he is still the victim. It seems the blame is being shifted onto him, he is the one who needs to change. How can that be right? Of course, he does need help, all our kids do. But the bullying has to stop.
CAHMS will not let you sit in for any length of time, if at all. That is just how they work. Not ideal for our kids, it can work, but I would step carefully. Sadly, if you refuse 'help' it will likely go down on file as 'parent refused to engage '. Grrrr.
So we are back to the question of why these supernova style outbursts? Something must be triggering him beyond control. Let's not blame it all on the mighty testosterone, that can be a red herring too, of course it contributes, but it is not the underlying reason.
My son, home-made not adopted, but with plenty of trauma in early childhood, did not respond favourably to male environments. Why? Because of the view he held of men - which was shaped negatively by his birth father. He certainly did not respond well to any perceived injustice and did not trust adults apart from me. He questioned rules, which were made for the sake of them and rebelled assist them, he was bullied and we went to court against the bullies. Got an injunction. This may not be an option for you, but if things get even more desperate....
He may need to be in a more nurturing environment, where he can spread his wings gently and does not have to prove himself. Maybe I am reading stuff into this, but if this behaviour is totally out of character I would look at the situation and draw my conclusions from that rather than looking at what may be 'wrong'with him.

Thanx flutterby.... Sadly school are dealing with the bullying but baa's injustice regimented thinking means that he can't always let things go....
School report that baa's frustrations are therefore resulting in him persuing certain situations & verbally revisting an incident with the boy unsupervised. This has been when they have continued on... baa is therefore viewed as the perp this time?! ....
Sigh...... shocked that I am not able to sit in.... I can see I need further discussions with our excellent s/w prior to this consult meeting of proffs around the child....school I think don't think he qualifies for 'ordinary camhs'....
Thanx all your views are so very helpful.... please keep them coming.....

As expected baa does not qualify ( by a mile so say s/w ) for the forensic camhs intervention.... would prolly just make things worse apparently ?!? .....
Supposedly they will contact me to assist them with their report of recommended further support school could impliment....
No more news till then I guess?! ....
Thanx to all & your welcomed support, it has been so tuff here for me too xx can't stop worrying & wondering.....
