Hi all, long time no... erm... post!
life appears to be settling a bit, had a hysterectomy 8 weeks ago and feel loads better. My brain fog even seems to be clearing.
snooz is at secondary school, special school, and seems so much happier. No friends, his ‘mainstream’ friends have moved on and the kids in class also have their share of quirks, but hopefully he’ll form some friendships. He’s making good progress and being boosted by not being last in everything. Transport is so far flawless and we have a good relationship with the driver and escort I do not miss the school run!! He remains fabulously quirky, infuriating but fun. He’s going to have several sessions with an OT to help him figure out where his body is ( if that makes sense) and work on his sensory issues, funded by asf.
my mum moved in with me last October. Her dementia is slowly progressing. After initially turning her nose up at supported living, I think my very quiet village and snooz and I have nearly driven her to distraction and she actually gets the keys to a warden control flat this Friday. We’ve been having fun this week ordering new carpets and furniture etc...and as my brain fog has lifted I’m zipping through changing addresses, doctors and general formalities for her. It’s in a local small town where she can walk to the high street, library....and her favourite Costa! She’s dubious about the move but I’m very hopeful it will be what we all need. I’m hoping she makes friends, in fact I told her today that I’m looking forward to inviting her out for lunch and she says ‘no, I’m already booked up’.
The ex remains a numpty, but having read up a bit more on narcissistic behaviours I can now see what he’s been doing and I’ve stopped reacting. It’s gone quiet from over there!
mr j and I parted company, which I’m happy about, we are occasionally still in touch. I care about him, but he is not right for me. He’s great fun when in the right frame of mind but he obviously has quite big issues which I’m not able to accept.
i am hoping that one day n the not too distant future I’ll get back out to work!
hope everyone is doing ok xx
