After being put "out for tender" (terrible wording) "contracts have now been exchanged" (even worse wording) for a therapeutic residential school placement for LO. It's taken since September but all parties have now agreed and signed the paperwork so all that remains is a meeting to discuss transition. Am trying very hard to look at all the positives and I know it's the right thing but need to prepare for another emotional rollercoaster.

That is really great. What a huge relief for you that there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. Still the rest of the mountain to climb..but wonderful there are now others prepared to take you seriously

That is good news. It might be heart wrenching at first but now there is time to rebuild and restrengthen yourselves for the weekends/holidays.

Fortunate LO that she has you to fight for the services she needs. May the transition go smoothly, and may she thrive in her new school. When might she start?

Well done.
It's SUCH a huge fight to get our children's needs taken seriously. Particularly when it has resource implications.
Going to a residential school isn't the end of your relationship with your daughter but the start of a new and constructive phase.

Fantastic - let the relief sink in a little, you deserve the breathing space and LO will get the best support with rejuvenated family to come home to.

That is really good news ! it sounds like a good result for the whole family. You will still see LO at weekends and during the holidays so will still keep your relationship going,; and little one will get the support she needs.

Hope everything goes well; as others have said, whilst it's a huge relief to you and your family/family life, it will still be hard but you'll find a new normal and it will give you both chance to re-charge your batteries during the week. x
