I wish I had read this before I took them YESTERDAY to see Finding Dory..........................it did finally get Peewit to admit he was scared of going on the family holiday in Wales this year in case he never came back...
Lots of trauma in this film carried by the child (fish) about loss of his parents.

I too have heard the adverse press about this film.... sadly as ever much film pushing in adverts & the like, boys desperate to see it.... I think I will deffo be erring on the side of caution & will be viewing another film instead.... too intense & risky I think for us xx

Thanks. Mine really want to see it. Had probs with King Fu Panda 3, would rather give it a miss but that raises suspicion and so we will have to do a talk with each child separately so at their level/linked with their issues and then all go together and talk about it afterwards. grrrrrrrr so many films have themes too hard for our kids.

my 2 smalls loved it. but then they are still thinking they will go back to bp's so maybe it reinforced the finding of parents for them? who knows?

Again no fall out from my little one (or we didnt notice !) :0
But he asked a few times if she would find her parents
At 6yo he lost interest in the middle of the film
Again we had discounted tickets. If paying full anount I'd certainly wait for the DVD
As an adult if you have or have experienced dementia &/or Alzheimer's in ypur family I think you would not enjoy the film at all.

Took Big Fish today and he loved it especially as he is hooked on Finding Nemo. It had some really heart wrenching moments in it but felt the underlying message was even with a 'disability' you are valued and able to achieve things and are an equal with everyone else despite your difficulties. It was harrowing though the baby fish looking for its parents.
