Just a ramble really, Do you love to look at them when they are asleep? I check on Simba several times a night, makes sure he is still tucked in, he knows and it seems to be a comfort to him. He moves around a lot, I often find him with his bum in the air. But he always looks so peaceful. We talk a lot about dreams. If I ask him if he had good dreams last night, he always says yes he dreamed about me and him staying together forever, if he says he has a bad dream, it's always about someone taking him away. Tonight he asked me if I still loved him, because he dreamed I didnt love him anymore. Of course I've no idea if he has these dreams or if it's just his way of telling me something he wants me to know. There is always so much going on in his little head, I just hope that his sleep is really as peaceful as he looks.

Yes they look so lovely and vulnerable when they are sleeping.
Thank you for this reminder. I really must try and view YDD when she is asleep and try and remember this as times are so tough at the moment it's hard to remember how sweet she used to be. Only trouble is her bedtime at the moment is 1.00am and I can't stay awake that long.
Perhaps I can take a look at 6.00am when I wake instead.

Aww serrakunda know what you mean about dreams.... Has crossed my mind too with some of the dream remembering that goes on at the farm..... But yep I came to the conclusion if it gets 'em opening up then so much the better....
I'm always sneaking in too... baa's half bat ( I swear ) always upside down hanging out of bed..?!? skweek bum in the air or flat out arms crossed behind head.... baa a very light sleeper ( hypervigilant to excess obviously in sleep mode too ) skweek would sleep thro a stampede.... Also complete opposites... Bonkers....
Jmk deffo sneak in at 5 or 6 am.... Hope she looks relaxed & angelic once more.... Xx

Love to watch my monkeys sleep... They sleep in a completely different way... Squirrel is tiny and dainty and has her intro video monkey tucked in her arms, howler has limbs flung out in all directions and is usually at the wrong end of the bed... Once she fell asleep climbing back into bed and I found her mid climb absolutely sparko... George is still v babyish and has his bottom in the air or is v foetal... The last thing I do every night is go and give them each a last kiss...I take tonnes of pics of them sleeping too... There's a rocking chair in George's room and if dh is out sometimes I go in and rock and listen to him breathe it's v peaceful and therapeutic Squirrel uses her 'dreams' to bring up whatever she wants to talk about... From I dreamed I had a butterfly (her v dearest wish) to I had a bad dream that you had no mor hugs left It's quite useful and tells me instantly in the morning how she is feeling But sleeping kids... So beautiful

I am actually still at the "newborn" stage of going in to check she's still breathing!! I sometimes wake up in a panic imagining that she's not... But once I realize she is still breathing and is totally at peace, I often just sit and watch, stroking her hair and marveling that she is actually real and actually mine!

Okay, I'm going to buck the trend ... it completely freaks me out! I creep in holding my breath ... I haven't plucked up the courage to kiss them when they're asleep yet - I'm certain I'd wake them up. Now for the confession ... most nights I don't go back into the room once they're asleep - is that really bad? Lolapola xx

bedtimes were so bad here - when she was asleep in the wee sma hoors I would then shuffle downstairs on my backside in case any noise woke her up - then would creep about the house as any noise freaked her out in case scary people were going to kill or "sex" her - so never had the gazing lovingly as a sleeping child bit

I cheer! And then breathe. Particularly as it can take ds2 hours to fall asleep. 1am and still awake last night/this morning.

I watch him sleep for as long as I think I can get away with being in the room. I fear that if I am there too long it will wake him and then we we be back to the forever it takes to get him to sleep in the first place. Asleep seems to be the only time that he actually stops talking and I look at how calm he is and wonder how the whirlwind he is ever gets contained in sleep :-)
