Yes happy birthday for tomorrow! If I could go back to my youthful self...and 39 is YOUNG!! I would pay attention to some health things, eat better, get more exercise, deal with some bad habits (mainly getting to bed too late). I am grateful that I am healthy but I am rather stiff and not very fit, not to mention considerably bigger than I was aged 39 You look very healthy and slim and gorgeous, so maybe you don't need to focus on the physical side of things. Try some new hobbies? Travel?

I could think of loads of things but all a bit difficult with little monkeys in tow.
When I was 39 I took redundancy and blew most of my redundancy pay on a 6 month trans trip through Africa. I was at lake Malawi on my 40th birthday, travelling with a group but no one special to share it with. I will be 49 on Wednesday, so half century rapidly approaching. Simba and I are saving up to back to Gambia next year, it will only be 10 days, very tame compared to the other trips but more special for me because Simba will be with me.
How about saving for a special trip. Or doing something like a parachute jump, or something totally un mum like and preferably un dignified.
Must go as cat is throwing a dead mouse round the living room, such is the life of a forty something single mummy

Ooohhh sadly I can't remember so far back to being 39!!
I wish i had had the time for more bonkers things tho!!
Going to a huge great park & taking the kids paddling in the fountain display for example... Whacky child centered stuff I think for me... Things that when they are older they would look up & say "Wow D'ya remember when we did..... Did we really do that ??.... Wild!? " Memories are just sooooo precious... Mind you this is also because I am secretly jealous.... I was 50 when baa & skweek were first placed
Love serrakunda's experience.... Always wanted to go trekking on a camel for a week or more....
Have fun thinking up something!?!.
Xx. moo. Xx

Get fit for forty is def on my list... Constantly lifting 3 small children is taking it's toll on my knees and wrists so I know I have to be mindful of that... And lard to that pic must be deceiving I'm decidedly lardy since having the kids and eating a lot of their dinners as well as my own with dh later! Oh serrakunda... Travel... The only thing I really, really miss about my child free life, I used to be a real wanderer and we haven't left the country for two yeArs as we have been in constant placement land, George's so has just been passed and passport is def on the agenda... I think first trip will have to be Europe based, but I can't wait to get away I did a bungee jump over the Zambezi on my honeymoon and have always fancied a parachute jump so maybe... And moo, you made me smile, our local library has v fun fountains outside abd I am that parent that not only let's her little monkeys run wild, but comes in for a great splash too... I'm a water baby and we are heading for a special park with pirate ships and fountains today It's nice having a secret plan of silliness to achieve I think I'm going to try and think of one random fun thing to do a month... And to make the most of my city ... And to try a lone camping trip with the minis, I really want to take them to a tiny festival next year and want to make sure they and camping are reasonable friends

I got married to lovely hubbt at age 39 . A bit slow off the mark me, not getting married till then, but definately worth the wait when i look at all the freinds who married young and are now divorced. Plus i did a lot of cycle touring round Scotland and bits of England, and climbed all the Munroes . I would be happy to repeat thirties , but 40 s were great too, happy years with hubby and better job ( and pay) and later the arrival of ds1 into our lives. Now ds2 as well. Every decade has its joys as well as the other stuff Sorry, sounding a bit twee so i will stop there.

I preferred the afternoon tea at the Victoria Falls hotel and watching people throw themselves off the zambezi bridge attached to nothing more than an elastic band, far more civilised if you ask me. The parachute jump over the namib desert at swakupmund is very good. apparently

The only thing on my to-do list at 39 was to be a parent - something I had then spent about 6 - 7 years trying to be. It was just pre to making the decision to adopt. So you have already done really well in my book!

Hmmm I am just a few months older than you choti (I was 39 at back end of Feb). Major thing for me is to try and get fitter and get some of the weight of me if I can. I am not very overweight just like to get rid of the stone I have put on since our wedding 7.5 years ago.

I think my aim at 49 is actually the same as I had at 39, to get myself out of my horrible job. But back then I had no responsibilities and a reasonable redundancy payment, can't just jack the job in and tootle off round Africa for six months this time
