Ok, so we had to make the "We are mummy and daddy" photo scarp book thing for Panel (this Thursday!!!). Luckily a friend of ours is really into photography and took some very lovely pictures. But the cutting and sticking and printing out the words etc. drove me mad. I'm so NOT a creative, crafty person!!!! - argh! Feeling jealous reading about how some of you guys really go for it and make beautiful clever creations. I'm rubbish at it :-( I can, however, sing but not sure how that's going to help!!!!!

That's why I made mine on Snapfish lol - imported the photos, then it was so so easy to create a book. 9.99 and it came in two days!

That's what I should have done. Mine looks so Blue Peterish it's unbelievable! Anyway, too late now as Panel is Thursday...

We didn't have to do anything like that for approval panel. For matching panel, as both of our girls were under 11months, we just did a GALT soft childrens album, a recordable album and also a helium balloon with a photo 1st time and a cushion with a photo 2nd time! We are incredibly creatively challenged so anything that involves decoration and gluing would be a disaster for us! Our girls would have destroyed them anyway!
Good luck on Thursday!

You can sing if you do a DVD for matching panel!

Singing will be fantastically helpful. Don't underestimate it! I sing all the time to my 2 - and I'm not a great singer! I make up little ditties with their names in and change the words according to the situation AND a book I read said that music is a very powerful tool to help heal traumatised children. It can't hurt and it's fantastically liberating for you!

Thank goodness it's not only me Daffin! I am constantly singing too. (And dancing!) My 2 year old has even started making up little songs now and it is so sweet! It definitely has a calming effect on my 2 - although I am sure they are the only 2 that could love my voice! Even my DH had got into it despite rolling his eyes and refusing to sing when Littlebee 1st came home. He even instigated a 30 minute singsong pre bed tonight!

I think it's great. That and learning to play (again). The hidden joys of parenting (well, hidden for me. I wouldn't inflict my silly singing on anyone outside the family and I certainly wouldn't let any adults hear the crazed dialogues that go along with my imaginary play with DS.) Private! But hugely liberating. And great fun.

Hi Guys, My boys now sing at the pedestrian crossing to try and get the man to turn green! Yep, I sing all the time, and GLF particularly loves singing and improvising his own songs. It's also great improvising tunes when songs turn up in stories - which happens surprisingly often - but be ware, you then have to remember the tune (or an approximation of it) for next time you read the story and the boys complain when someone else reads the story without singing! Singing is also great for getting children's attention (ie alternative to asking them in a louder voice) - the different tone quality seems to engage them quicker - my boys will now often sing back. (ie Singing: "GLF, have you brushed your teeth yet? Singing answer: "Yes, I have!) Sorry to have hijacked this thread from Intros books to singing!
