Our SW has ask DH and me to prepare a 300 word summary to go with a photograph of the 2 of us. I think this is to show foster carers of potential matches for us. I've done a draft, but 300 words doesn't let you say much. What kind of things did people put on theirs?

I think this would go to children's family finders and social workers as (wrongly I feel) FC don't get much of a say in where their children go. Ours had: names, age, marital status, length of relationship, house type, area, ethnic mix of area, careers, v brief interest, strength of support network and any key strengths in childcare experience/ adoption related experience, sw details It was v short and to the point... For us this worked well, our ff had over 50 responses to our daughters profile in cww and wanted enough to pique her interest, she picked 10 and then looked at the form F's for each of those, and selected from there. She was so drawn to the picture which was an informal head and shoulders that we were both v happy and smiley in, as she felt it showed warmth and felt ''real' Good luck

Yep tuff... But like choti says keep it short & sweet & memorable.... Maybe use quirky but fun language & humour ( if room)...
Remember your l/o's are out there waiting for you to find them...

Thanks, Chotimonkey and Moo, DH and I have written so many drafts now but I've just sent one to our SW for comments. It covers who we are, ages, house details, that we have a great support network (all our families live close by, nice neighbours etc.), some deats re work sit., child care experience, stuff we like doing etc. We sent several pics to our SW and she says she likes 2 of them so she'll chose from there..... We just have to trust that she knows what she's doing!

I'm thinking that, as we are looking for a young LO (12 m or less) there is going to be huge competition....

SW thinks we need to up more stuff into our summary. She thinks we undersold ourselves. I said "but it is already 300 words!" and she said it didn't matter. So we await her comments/ suggestions...
