Thought I'd try and keep you all up to date with what's happening in the Wellies life!
Met LO (Rainbow Wellies) this afternoon. It was lovely to finally meet her. We played for an hour and she liked the transitional toy I brought for her and recognised it from the DVD I made. She sat with me while we looked at a couple of books and we did some imaginative play. She had missed her afternoon nap and was quite tired and clingy with foster carers at times but I expected that. She is only 2 1/2 so a bit confused about who I am as she calls FC's Mummy and Daddy. FC's emotional in planning meeting as this is the first time they have moved a child on for adoption. It is going to be so hard for them. I'm looking forward to getting to know my little Rainbow Wellies this week!
I'll try and keep you updated as the week progresses.

Isn't it lovely to meet your LO after so long? Its lovely she came to you, especially as she was tired. I hope your intros go well, we can be intro buddies!!
Take care of yourself this next week, we have found it an exhausting week, accept any offers of help especially if someone can prepare a meal for you to come home to.
Good luck and can't wait to read your next installment!

Ah, that's lovely that you've met her. Certainly an apt name given the current weather conditions!
I hope the FC are able to be professional during your visits and help her to come to you and spend time easily with you; it is very hard for them I know but you do need this time to start to get to know her.
Good luck and hope all goes well.

Do take care of yourself - I know what a toddler of that age can be like (*she says wearily*). Sqk was a little younger during Intros - he will be 2.5 in under a fortnight and has been placed nearly 3 months. It is good if someone can prepare meals of the like to come home to - there were 2 of us and still we blessed my sister when we came home from first day to discover food on our doorstep. However it is a wonderful feeling on first meeting - I can still remember that even if it seems a lifetime ago (only 3 months).

Thank you all for your lovely comments. You are right about it being tiring. I'm glad I cooked some meals for the freezer in preparation. Its the driving which is the worst bit as its an hour each way!
Day 2 Arrived at 10.00. Rainbow Wellies was just having her hair brushed and appeared very happy. She was just finishing watching a TV programme. I chatted to Fc's and then we walked to the park. I was amazed that Rainbow wellies could walk so far. We played in the park for an hour. She enjoyed hide and seek and I pushed her on the swings. She also likes splashing in the puddles in her Wellies. She held mine and FC hands as we walked back.
I then had 1 ½ hr break for lunch and walked back into town and sat in a café and read my book. It was quite nice to have a little break .
I returned at 2pm and played with LO At 2.30pm we went to a local garden centre which has a small soft play area. It was so small it was difficult for an adult to fit inside so couldn’t interact much with her. She really enjoyed playing with the other children and it was lovely to see her so happy. She seemed quite comfortable around me but is calling me the name of FC grown up daughter who has visited in past!
I'm hoping to get an opportunity to take her out on my own tomorrow or Fri. She is not a cuddly child unless she is very tired so haven't had a cuddle yet!

Sounds like it is going really well and you are taking it slowly. Every day you are getting to know each other a little bit more. She sounds adorable.

09.01.14- Day 3
Arrived at 8am. Played with Rainbow wellies and FC with her tea set. Observed Rainbow wellies eat breakfast. Observed FC do nappy change, wash and dress. Took LO out to a small farm on my own. It was lovely to be with her. We listened to my Nursery Rythme CD in the car and she liked singing along. We held the Guinea Pig, Rabbits and stroked a Hedgehog. She liked holding a stick and digging with it. We played for a while in the sandpit, sat on an old tractor and rode a peddle car.
We went to the café on site for lunch. We read a story while we waited and she did a bit of colouring. I did my first nappy change in a very confined space and LO was so good. She called me Mummy the whole time we were there which was lovely to hear (she did revert to calling FC Mummy as soon as we were back!!!). LO fell asleep in the car on the way back to FC house.
When we got back we played in the lounge and then LO SW came to visit. It was lovely that she was interacting really well with me and played lots of games of hide and seek where she told me where to hide! After SW left LO played in the bath and then I sat with her as she ate her tea. She wasn’t that keen to eat it but the incentive of a fromage frais kept her eating it all.
It has been an exhausting but lovely day where I felt like a real Mummy at long last.Tomorrow is mid placement review in morning and then I'm staying right through to observe bed time routine. Fortunately I am now staying in a B&B for the next 2 nights as I am expected to be at FC from 7am-8pm.
Not sure if I will be able to update diary as depends on WiFi!

Good to hear it's still going well and that FC is allowing you to take over her care while still based in FC house.
Review should go well by the sounds of it so presumably by this time next week your house will be a tip, you'll have your clothes on inside out, you'll be happy if she just eats one thing off the wonderful plate of food you provide each mealtime and you'll collapse in exhaustion each night (after her bedtime if you're lucky!)
