I want to make a concerted effort to be myself again, not just mum on autopilot.
Health is another priority, I have been quite poorly this last year, so want to work on supporting my immune system.
And most of all, keep writing.

With you both....
Had been thinking 'boys need to be able to cook more' plus I need to be me again.... it is so easy to be mum 24/7..... teenagers claim to want independence ( on their terms so why not mine too! ๐)
Boys are going to practise 'walking away more when others behaviour is challenging & abusive at school 'I must stop trying to stop it myself mummy' says baa ๐ข ....
Good post... been working here on 'home improvements' but didn't want it to call it new year resolution ๐
Good Luck All

Great post. I would like to get into healthier habits, and reward myself with things in the evening that arenโt good/ wine and make me feel better than zonking out in front of the tv... more baths, reading for longer, not just ten mins from getting into bed, thinking time etc.
Finish my second book and be a more present parent... often Iโm scheduling appointments/ feeling annoyed about trying to access professional help kids are entitled to. The most helpful thing for them is completely present parents and I need to remind me of that.
Other is to find time for mr monkey and I to have quality time. We are both good at making sure we still do our solo thing... but with 4 the number of baby sitters are less regular and we need our time too!
I shouldโve asked for one of those gizmos that freeze time for Christmas ๐

8th January, but still New Year ish.
Here goes! Finish my novel. Eat our own vegetables from the new allotment, get fitter, go out more in the evenings with Mr M. I also want to try and be happier, less stressed by the children, perhaps accept I am not 'wonder mum' and can only do so much and the rest will just have to sort itself out and I need to be more ' accepting' when it all goes wrong! Have more fun, get out of my comfort zone...perhaps we should all read these posts in a years time and score ourselves out of 10!

My aim currently is simply to be well again.
For Tsunami I am hoping we can make school a positive experience this year.
For Hurricane I am hoping his current volunteer work will lead to more confidence with talking in public.
