School have just about got curious george’s support right... ehcp, excellent big hearted (v patient!!!) TA, nurture class in the morning and combination of whole class and separate group activities in the aft.. group cooking/ forest school/ etc
We had a really positive meeting with senco salt ot and ta talking about how far he’d. Come... thinking that we’d like to very gently and slowly look at upping his class time, taking baby steps at bringing him in the classroom in little increments in the afternoons. Taking our cues from george with the aim of having him doing 3 full afternoons by the end of the yeAr. Great
2 hours later senco phones, school is on pre Ofsted flap, all children need to be engaged in educational learning, the morning group can continue, but the afternoons are stopping... and all the withdrawn children will need to be in class from next half term. This half term finishes in three days... there’s no prep/ transition planned, nothing in place to prepare him for the change, senco is only in one day a week played return from maternity and won’t be in till after he’s been back for most of a week , no plan on how to integrate him, differentiate the class work, he’ll be with a stranger for the main part of his transition to afternoons and at the end of the day which is when he’ll be toredest and unable to cope with change...
and this happens just as we are due to do intros with mini monkey...
I’m meeting the head later to say I’m reallly very unhappy about this, and that I will be filling in the Ofsted parental survey about this...
But grrrrrrrrr I’ve spent the last two months making sure the support around squirrels dyscalculia, howlers anxiety after being bullied and curious george’s asd is water right before mini monkey comes and feel we’ve had the rug pulled from under us here.
So frustrated
