The relentless primary school end of term organised fun’ is killing us... we haven’t had a normal day in weeks... Curious george is imploding with not having any routine, the girl that bullies howler had another pop at her abd even sweet natured, even tempered squirrel is completely over it... I’m unable to process any more requests for Stone Age/ French/ recycled costumes, remember sports day which is separate from sports week/ trips/ transition day/ class parties/ which are separate from class reward day parties/ buy anymore stuff/ give any more £1 coins... Holidays please now... Pjs beach time and some wine.. in any order... I’m Not fussy

Hugs choti..... Boy are we delighted to be away from this....
Mine used to spend a school day cleaning classroom & litterpicking the playground f.f.s 👹 👹 we had it down come the finish....
Sickness bug needs 48hrs off especially if they are sick again just the night before return to school!!
Also this can be followed by runny bots/fever everybody in household down with it.........
I used to spend ages coming up with endless things we needed to be away from school for.... Opticians appts! ....Dentist appts ( boys so traumatised need to come home to relax after etc 😳😳)
Ours was soooo bad that actually stuff just stopped after may half term.... no more real lessons.... boys used to be climbing the walls sooo stressed no structure no routine going balmy....
Best ever was skweeks last year at idiot school.... G.P signed him off for the whole waste of time last half term..... I cannot tell you how relieved & re-vitalised he was.... He was briliant & wonderfully rested/relaxed when he started secondary.... A new boy it was brilliant just what I thought it would be.... the stress fear & trauma not knowing what was going to happen the next lesson /vast expance of day before the relief of coming home d@mn nearly destroyed him....
Sending you & yours many gentle hugs....we deffo never want to go thro this again..... I hope your monkeys get thro it....make friends of your G.P who knows.... ours surprised us & was megga supportive & signed off happily xxxx He had lots of ideas up his sleeve...
Good Luck Not Long Now....
I feel a monkey bug coming your way ... back to school next week now then? 😵
Xx moo xx

Thabks moo... I think tactical family illness is the way to go...
Ours haven’t really done anything since half term.... might think about getting the docs to sign them off before the end of Christmas term this year...
Cough... cough... splutter... so ill... it feels so infectiouS... and I’ve been breathing all over the monkeys.... better keep them at home for the good of all Xx

Your post made me chuckle Choti, my head is spinning with similar requests from school together with new and strange activities as part of the 'wind down' ( shouldn't that be up?!) to the holidays, that I marvel that Lawping and Peewit are as calm as they are, which is not very, but at least hanging in there albeit dressing in increasingly odd clothes to go to school, which I am just letting go! Bring on those holidays!

Hurricane finishes school tomorrow and he has been bouncing off the walls this week - well, if that's what you call it when every tiny request/mistake/misheard word leads into a full on toddler meltdown?
That's with no fancy dress, an understanding school and a reduced timetable this last couple of weeks - so not at all surprised you are finding it tough.
Hang in there!

Been incredibly lucky here in our new school. Sports Day a month ago, an afternoon trip (in school uniform) last week and own clothes on day of summer fair (3 weeks ago). Then leavers service tomorrow and that is it for non routine stuff. the school is very much trauma & attachment aware. it has a number of children in foster care and adopted/SGO children in it. We have had this year 2 non-uniform days, 2 half-day trips & a full day trip and that has been it...... Given Sqk is not totally convinced he is going back to same school in September (after move last summer) - even with all the transition work we are all doing we have had one of calmest ends to school years in the 4 he has been in school. His teacher and main classroom TA are moving up with class next year to ensure consistent adult for him as we are only just getting his TA sorted out. So school decided to give him the consistency to keep his teacher & classroom TA the same. Yes we do have that holy grail for adoption - a school that gets it and works with us as a partnership.....
