So this week Simba chose his GCSEs.
I'm not entirely happy with the total number , but I wanted to give him some choice. I managed to steer him in what I feel is the right direction, 2 BTECs are in there so a bit less exam pressure. And I have a back up plan.
But I was very proud of my boy, he listened to me and his teachers and made some good choices.
He's growing up !

he is doing Maths, English and Science which are compulsory, but thats 5 GCSEs ( English language and literature and Double Science)
He's chosen Geography GCSE and Btecs is Sport and ICT
Apart from English I think he could manage them on an individual basis, but the cumulative effect worries me

Hate the idea of eng lit..... English Lang obvious, but retaining miles of ancient tricky to follow text fills me with dred on boys behalf.... Just don't 'see' them inspired by far from the madding or Jane Eyre.... They struggle with older fasioned phrased text or ideals!!
Good luck Simba hope the texts are more interesting xxx

Showing your age now Moo
Texts can be more modern these days or presented in more up to date ways
Simba's second play is a musical - Blood Brothers. He is also doing Macbeth - we saw a steam punk version last summer - in a church featuring music by Meatloaf.
