I would advise anyone with adopted kids to not go and see it. It’s a PG but I felt quite scary. It also has the message that you have to keep your ancestors in mind or they disappear in a fairly traumatic way from the underworld to be lost for ever. There is also an advert on before it for something but the advert is singing about birth sisters always being there for each other.

Hi over the weeks I'd seen the trailers for this and didn't fancy it (I'm hardly the target audience).
Thanks Esty for tip we gave it a miss. Hubby saw Early Man instead. Said he took one for the team and it's definitely my turn next time (again we are hardly the target audience) but youngest thought it was fab
Meanwhile I watch The Maze with eldest (aged 13). I won't spoil the plot but scary zombie type people pop up. Eldest couldn't believe and neither could I that it was a 12A. Violence, zombies, little hope! Way more action than the first two films. Saying that it was fabulous.

I had no clue what it was about but snooz wanted to see it so I took him.
we really enjoyed it, but it did raise some issues for him. On the journey home he asked me about birth mum and a sibling that had passed away shortly after birth and why. For us, oddly, it helped open some dialogue.
Snooz never lived with bps so maybe a bit different for us.....

YDD saw it on an hospital outing and loved it. Couldn't see any adoption connection at all and recommended I go and see it. I didn't, but went and saw Finding my feet instead which I found both amusing and poignant and age appropriate for myself. Want to see Ladybird next, but it's too blooming cold to go out.
