Hi I'm in a county with a 3 tier system. At year 9 the kids move into upper school.
Following year 8 SATS my son's Maths results were viewed by the new school that he would be better placed in the stream B not stream A. Basically stream B being 5% of students and A being 95%.
After much discussion it was agreed he would start at the lower set of maths and it be reviewed prior to October half term.
Sorry for the long intro. I'm positive they said for stream B only core subjects would continue to enable as much time as possible to be spent on maths & English.
I'm sure stream A & B are called different things at different school but hopefully I've explained it well enough.
Thanks

Me again. Did I actually ask a question !
So what are the core subjects ? If he moves how hard is it to get back (appreciate it is down to ability).
Can you just slot back in ?
