Hi all
New to the site, approved and matched prospective adopter (and husband). We have our link panel on 20th Sept with intro's potentially (hopefully) starting on 21st.
Any tips and advice welcome for the intro. Additionally, things we can do in the first few months. He's been with his foster carer since January so I imagine he has a good attachment there. We also have a 3 yo birth daughter.
thanks in advance lward

Hi and welcome If you scroll down the home page you will see the "Approved Adopters Board". There are some very useful threads on intro's pinned at the top which you might like to read with very helpful hints and suggestions. How exciting for you. We've not had any new mums for some time now as most of our children have been home for quite a while. Looking forward to hearing about your intro's. jmk

oooh new baby!!! exciting.
welcome, mine was 7 when he came home so very different.
But intros are a weird time, take it a day at a time, you will be shattered. Fill the freezer with easy to cook food. Don't worry about housework. It can all wait.
Have fun, enjoy
and welcome to planet adoption

wonderful time.. and congrats.
Make sure you have something special planned for your birth daughter to look forward to, e.g. special day out with mum or dad after intros, maybe swimming, or film, or cycling etc. you need to make sure she knows you have her in mind, it may be tough for her to get through with all your attention on your new little one, so a promised treat may be helpful during intros.
