Was listening to LBC this morning and they were talking about children being addicted to their devices and how we parents should be trying to encourage them to get off devices and do 'normal' activities. Then a listener phoned in and told them about an App he has designed which you can download onto your own phone and your childs devices so you can program in restrictions on how long they can access the internet etc.
They have a free trial period or you can pay £2.99/month, £29.99/yr, or a one off payment of £75 forever.
I know older children could get round this by deleting the App, but it might be good for those of us with younger children wanting their first phone/device as we could program restrictions in from the beginning and hopefully they won't twig how to get rid of them.
Features
ScreenLimit is easy to install and works on iOS, Android and Amazon devices along with Windows PC’s and laptops, allowing you to set daily limits tailored to individual children. The unique countdown timer synchronizes across all your children’s devices, helping you to keep the peace when it comes to following through on limits. You can set challenges and rewards: they can earn extra screen time by doing chores, completing homework, or being kind. You can also download one of the expert pre-defined plans.
