We are heading for Brains' first sleepover, the friend has slept over with others lots and I know him quite well, the unknown will be Brains' reaction to an unconventional bedtime / night...any tips?

I am just in awe that Simba can handle a sleep over and that you seem quite laid back about it...I feel weak just thinking about such a thing!

a friend to have a sleepover with was Simba's dream, he has stopped overnight with a friend who has twins several times but didnt find a friend to have sleepovers with until secondary school.
He does get very excited about them. I think the key is picking the right friend, limiting it to one, and food !
have a plan, I try to take them swimming first, burn off energy, drink in coffee shop, walk home, games until tea, movie, then they can go and chill out in his bedroom until lights out. This usually means them lying on the bed with headphones on playing on their phones.

Oo big success, to be honest Brains was a better host than I ever was as a child, both asleep by 9.30pm, we made it all the way through to lunch time the next day and with a 6am start without any fall outs. BB was with grandparents which is now a regular arrangement (alternating child) and is an absolute god send, we couldn't have done it if she were around.

Dash keeps mentioning wanting a sleepover. So have taken note of top tips! I think friend would need to sleep in spare bedroom but breakfast would be exciting :-)

BB has her sleepover mate tomorrow night and it will be interesting how that goes - DH is more relaxed as BB is our more pliable child but I've seen these girls get themselves all worked up and I know this friend has fewer routines at home than we do so could be more challenging than expected...
